All Comments on 'Yom Kippur'

Must have dosed off a little in Sunday school... Actually there is not much of a connection between 'guilt' and 'scapegoating', at least not in Judaism (Yom Kippur or not). What you do - you account for ...it's between you and your conscience (that's the hardest IMHO).Those who are lucky and believe in 'something above' have to account the same but with higher authorities (that's easier for them IMHO)... <P>

All the nasty stuff we do to each other -actions words etc. even Jesus (just kidding!) can't help you, I mean, no god no prayer could help you just go and ask forgiveness from the source, those who you actually hurt. No short cuts or easy way outs. Ask me, it’s the OPPOSITE of scapegoating. I know it's tough to be responsible.

I know it's a poem (and of course yours...) but the name of the poem is a cultural (at least) icon. I enjoyed the original use of the musical imagery.

p.s. There was actually a scape GOAT, a real one - but that was more than 2000 years ago...

I don't see how the descriptions relate to Yom Kippur, which is one of the holiest/solemn days in the Jewish calendar.....would be helpful if you explained.....thank you....
