I too found this a bit implausible, if they're so hard up for money, how did the mom manage to rent an entire theater? But I must commend you for coming up with an original setting for getting the mom and son into bed. Good job.
And I have to say, EXCELLENT call on Lauren Bacall. I always thought she was one of the most beautiful actresses to grace the screen. The first time I saw 'The Big Sleep', she took my breath away.
