Not upto the standard

It is like some scenes loosely knitted. I liked your other stories better.

Too wordy, at the start he throws the gift he got for Amy on the table and tells her to keep it along with the engagement ring, but suddenly he has the same ring for Christine? Also don't we get enough about ISIS and every thing like that in the news without having to read it here.

You didn't read the part ....

Anon

You didn't read the story. The ring he gave Amy was one SHE picked out not the one he gave Christine.

Touching.

Not sure about the title. It seems a stretch since Amy was so small a part of this story. I suspect that a little more about her and Rick's back story might have made hs finding love more impactful. At the very least, actually having the story of her rejecting his Grandmother's ring would have given us a hint of her character and prevented the Anon comment.

As to the comment about too much ISIS, it is clear your story needed an active combat theater so unless you were going to drag us into a war with the Russians in Ukraine or the Chinese in the South China Sea, I don't see anything that would have worked better.

But the development of the story after Amy was sweet and well done. Thanks.

Welcome back

Glad to see another one of your stories. I enjoyed it, but I have to agree with the comment that more about Amy would have helped. I kept waiting for her to reappear or at least some mention of what happend to her. It distracted me a little from the main story. Regardless, I'm glad you're back writing stories.

Nice New story!

I am a fan of yours - enjoy reading them! I agree that your character development of Amy should have more for the reader - maybe an understanding of why Amy behaved so badly! From the information in the story, I don't quite understand what "I'm not Amy" means. Is it that Christine stuck through thick and then where Amy's behavior was to give up on the relationship since Rick was gone so many times?

Any way, whatever you write is enjoyable to read. Thanks, GatorRick

Not Erotic

A decent story, but this is an 'erotic' website. If this story was filed under 'non-erotic', I would have rated it higher.

AnonymousAnonymousover 8 years ago

This felt more like an outline for a story than an actual story... There was very little personality to any of the characters

Don't care what they say...

I know EXACTLY why she is glad that she is not Amy!

Nice outline. Expand it into a novel and add personality and details.

very good

I enjoyed this story. Welcome back. Glad to have new work from you. Gave it 5*. Have to agree though, it needed a bit more about Amy and more show and less tell. Still enjoyed it as is, especially the longer courtship. Your characters have a tendency to fall in love too fast. (Hah! This from a guy who met and married his wife in 6 weeks! 11years together and still happily in love.)

Wicked Good

I'm glad to be able to read a new story from you. It's was excellent or in the Ol' Boston accent, "Wicked good."

Great, warm story

What a heart-warming story! I rooted for Rick and Christine all the way! I would have liked to see a description of them -- I can picture Rick with a healthy hairy chest, well muscled and shaped, and a lovely manly cock, and ready to lavish his loving on Christine!

One of the best

I think this was one of the very best stories I've read online. It was well written and well developed.

Great!

I really enjoyed this story as well as your other offerings. Thank you. As for the person complaining about it not being erotic, it was about love. I'm talking about real, intimate love. You don't always have to have descriptive sex, besides this is in the romance section.

AnonymousAnonymousover 8 years ago
so where was "the story?"

As mentioned in another comment, this feels like simply the "outline" of the story. Everyone is pretty one-dimensional, everything is presented as facts, there's very little interaction between characters, and to top it off, where's any physical intimacy in this story? Again, the relationships are just presented as "facts" and though things happen, no one really develops through interacting with one another. You could've posted this in Reader's Digest with the lack of intimacy in this story.

It is well written. A good story depicting love.

Great story!

Who doesn't love a great romance, especially one with a touch of military excitement added in? Plus it has a happy ending and I just love a happy ending. The world is full of misery so a bit of happiness is always appreciated.

Another good romance

This time you had me worried that he was going to lose Christine. It happens.

One thing is that is probably better to lose your lover in the engagement phase rather than after you are married.

NICE STORY

I liked the story! I love your stories about romance and services! I read some of the comments about your story writing some write negative things (they know jack sh♥t or diddly squat) Please continue writing stories I love em! Love you all! Bye. Greg. .ps..Please excuse my spelling of some words.

Great potential

You have the basis for a great story. I enjoyed reading this but may I offer a few suggestions. As these are my own thoughts and I'm definitely not a professional, accept or reject as you see fit.

1. Spend a bit more time on character development. I never got to know Amy and I hardly feel like I know much about Christine, Rick or any other character for that matter.

2. Try to have the story "flow" more smoothly. At times it felt like I was reading a diary.

Keep the stories coming!

Oh Well

It went from a 5-star to a 4-star simply because of, in my opinion, a very bad last line. Otherwise it was spectacular.

Sorry

Sorry Amy didn't get to tell Rick that her first cousin was visiting.

FA-18

The FA-18 is a twin engine jet not a single engine, so he would probably on need an ATP and commercial ticket to fly the corporate plane along with a check-out in the plane.

Sucks to be Amy

Whatever happened to old Amy?

Did she just become a Hermit in the house across the street staring out her window behind the curtains and ended up starting a Cat Farm?

@Anon 05/24/18

Amy's story is about incest...

Doesn't really belong in Romance so it got glossed over, thankfully.

AnonymousAnonymousover 3 years ago

Outstanding story and author!!! THANK YOU! All though Christine is not negative person, it would have been nice to hear Amy having a difficult life.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 3 years ago

Not bad . Not great.

Amy and family live across the street. Long tome friends with Rick and family. Yet the story about what happened never was communicated between the families? Seriously?

And not giving readers any info on what happened was a real plot downer. I kept thinking that Christines rehabilitation therapist would be good old Amy, and we would finally learn WTF happened. But no.

And nothing about Christine losing weight?

Look....decent writing but the story, in the end, was shallow and kinda empty.

@anonymous - who cares? I recently read an essay about BTB stories, which made a valid point. The best BTB and LW stories don't actually spend time on the cheating ex as she's not important and shouldn't be, but on journey and future of the main hero. She got exactly what she deserved - oblivion from anyone that matters.

Excellent story - I really enjoyed it. I have been in harm's way during service to our country so I enjoy stories with a military background.

Well done.

Not explaining the Amy betrayal or even hinting about what happened to her cost a ⭐️

.

Look…..the woman lived across the street from his parents! How could they NOT have known something was going on before OR after he found out? She was engaged to him! He’s coming home for Thanksgiving but she and his parents aren’t communicating almost daily leading up to the visit? Bizarre…..

.

The rest of the story was really good.
