Great build up, and you have hit the nail on the head about the financial situation in America. I hope the wonderful elected and appointed politicos don't come down on you for telling the truth 10 stars!
and see that the second chapter has already posted. Looking forward to the continued portion. Five stars plus another five since only the five are allowed.
It is to be expected that to own your own home it is just a dream for millions with politicians the american public vote into office.
No civilized country have such nice people and such stupid politicians, why?
Some may call it a rant but to me it was a politically justified argument filled with passion, just like a great hero of mine Charles Dickens. Good points, passionately made; I doff my cap to you madam.
Oh, and it sets it up nicely for some mother/son love! 5*
Scary thoughts on what might really happen for Halloween! Great entry story-more please!
Friday the 13th, Halloween and other superstitious sayings, ideas and happenings have always fascinated me! This entry by master writer and story teller Susan Jill Parker is perfect for the season. Right away Susan gives you a feeling for the mother and son, loosing their home and chance for the annual party at the last minute with virtually no notice, has we readers sympathetically looking at both Jennifer & Michael and knowing that soon they will be sharing the cell like proportions of the cheap & seedy motel has our most lurid thoughts running through our minds. Each knock on the motel door makes me wonder if it is going to be some thug demanding a trick or treat of Jennifer's hot body or someone who wants to humiliate Michael and his lack of apparent sexual prowess. I think this will be a fabulous series for the end of our most spooky month. We regular readers might think we can guess what SJP has p her sleeve, but just like when I watch the "Wizard of Oz" - I know the unexpected is just around the corner. Thanks Susan for warming this old curmudgeon's innards and I look forward to another 5 Star ***** chapter! Smiles my friend-from who else but smiling Jaybird.......:)
that some will read and object, not to the story, but the commentary regarding TARP and politics.
I am looking forward to seeing where the two who have been evicted go and am not worried about how they got there.
I fully agree with you on the "Big Banks" I truly dislike B of A. It took them 9 months to do a refi of my mortgage that should have taken 90 days tops. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Wonderful buildup to what I hope is to happen. I specifically enjoyed the way they looked at each other - having the same thought in that gesture - at the end of this chapter. I'm looking forward to chapter 2!
Right on the mark!

Love Your Politics
I agree with your politics totally. Since the only sex is between bankers and their victims' ass, I can only rate this on the political point of view.
Interesting Start....

Well thought out and presented. Not trashy but a Grear lead in to the story to come.
Amazing writer with perception.
this author has a deep understanding of the American economic (dys)function.
Love the digs at the one-per-centers!
99% of the total wealth of this country is in the hands of 1% of the population!
So far, so good!
Now I'm invested in the story. Their story. Very much enjoying your mix of commentary on society along the way.
I think I'll take on 02, before turning in.
Thank you!
Great start
