Sad Consequence story
It is terrible, but I agree to show to the readers sometimes not creampieating, cuck life, divorce or successful reconciliation are the possibilities but sad violance or murder. The murder is not BTB, because the wife does not "enjoy" the ex husband's success from the coffin.
A little too cut and dried for my taste . As a pulp exercise straying spouse eradication. , this fine albeit not overladen with imaginative wrinkles. Proof of life from hall of author terminating straying spouse character . Not to worry Others will love it in place of myself. Call it a hunch.

The mistake of the murder was he cut his cock. He should have killed him simple. The cut cock is a very good trace to him better than the Cessna for the Police.

I am amazed so many people are missing out on the plan
1) By having MULTIPLE KNOWN lovers, he showed this was not a crime of passion and cast doubt on his guilt. Why now?
2) Why now was OBVIOUSLY so he had another good candidate for the crime: i.e. the Genovese family. None of her other lovers offered that kind of muddying of the waters.
3) by leaving her trust fund in the wind and knowing about it, he cast more doubt upon himself as the suspect, because what guy doesn't like money?
4) By leaving an IMperfect alibi, it seems like he is LESS credible as a murderer since a killer would have left a PERFECT alibi., or at least as good as possible.
5) same reason for not having a lawyer
But twocrows raises a valid point. People die EVERY DAY in their homes. People have bad car accidents. People slip and die in their tubs. Bad meat.

At least in this story JPB didn't have the husband a wimp and keep the wife.
Great story, although I would have thought that given his history that he would have simply made sure her first lover met with an unfortunate accident and that any possible future lovers were herded off at the pass so to speak. Why? To avoid the possibility that she would pass a possibly fatal or debilitating sexual disease to him of course. Oh, by the way, if he really wanted revenge he could have waited for her money to hit and then arranged for her accident to happen when he had a solid alibi. As for the comment about aircraft, airliners are tracked, not small planes unless they are near an airport, just too damn many of them in the air and far too many overworked air controllers to be bothered tracking them otherwise. But that is my take on the story and it is still a great story anyway.
His wife would have been a beneficiary of the Trust BUT does not own the assets. He would not inherit the assets of the Trust nor would he share in their value in a divorce. He would have to also be a beneficiary. So, their assets would NOT have been approx equalled.
However, we don't let pedantic facts get in the way of a good story and I have always enjoyed JPB stories.

people want to know why he waited. simple, he waited for the perfect time. he waited until he could get away with it. someone wants to know why his wife didnt have an accident after her first affair. as soon as the cops found her dead, even if it looked like an accident they would check into her life. they would find that she was having an affair which would instantly point to the husband. as soon as they found out about his hiring a PI they would know that he knew about her cheating. they can then build a case around that. people have been sent to prison on less. the only bad part is the airplane. after 9-11 it would be a little harder to slip that one by. still very good story, although he souldve let his wife talk a little after he killed her lover. i like the conversations after they get caught cheating. i keep wanting to see if one of them can come up with something original.
I would like to think this story is an elaborate in joke demonstrating that to the BTB crowd no horror inflicted on an unfaithful wife is too extreme.

It is not BTB, because the wife can not see the husband's future success. The wife's murder stories are sad Consequence stories only. No mention of Hubby having a Sweetie-in-waiting with whom to start a family (or even better sex?). On the other hand, Hubby lost all the great sex he requested, plus more that Sweetie initiated! And some great arm-candy.
If Hubby REALLY wanted to punish Sweetie with subtle and uncertain threat, why not arrange for Bull1 to earn a Darwin Award* by losing his nuts by accident ... making sure Sweetie heard about it in a round-about way. Then, a month or so later, Bull2 loses his entire package in a different type of accident ... with different grape-vine informants! Then wait 6-9 months for Bull3!
The story ends with "... act normal and wait and see." Wait and see WHAT? Hubby is SURE that he got away with multiple murder! If he's waiting to see if he got away with a crime which has NO statute of limitations, that ALONE is a compelling reason to NOT commit the crime! Looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life is a much longer self-punishment than that imposed on Sweetie and Bull!

I thought that was where this was going, but the surprise that he was there implies this was not really a factor. Turner's death was just a coincidence. Yeah, if Turner was still alive there is a chance it could have come up during the investigation, but then, even with having to deal with his in-laws, he’d have to be interrogated, which would have created a chance of Frank’s story unraveling. Hell, especially considering his in-laws he may have an ever greater reason to cooperate just to save his ass from them.

7 Million Reasonable Doubts
NOT waiting 9 months created 7 million reasonable doubts. JPB initially withholding the dickectomy was classic cop procedure. Wearing clear eyeglasses rather than dark wraparound fit-over sunglasses over regular sunglasses - to defeat facial recognition and human identification - was suboptimal trade craft though.

... As usual, this is another story well told by JPB in his style, short and to the point. I thank Bob for the story and the ending. You don't always get an ending with Bob.
Had I been the hero in the story I would waited the 9 months and taken half of her stuff. That was his reason for not divorcing her when he discovered the first bed buddy; he didn’t want to get beaten up by the courts. So he commits a capitol felony, loses his share of the inheritance and has cops in two cities sniffing around him.

If Hubby REALLY wanted to punish Sweetie with subtle and uncertain threat, why not arrange for Bull1 to earn a Darwin Award* by losing his nuts by accident ... making sure Sweetie heard about it in a round-about way. Then, a month or so later, Bull2 loses his entire package in a different type of accident ... with different grape-vine informants! Then wait 6-9 months for Bull3!
The story ends with "... act normal and wait and see." Wait and see WHAT? Hubby is SURE that he got away with multiple murder! If he's waiting to see if he got away with a crime which has NO statute of limitations, that ALONE is a compelling reason to NOT commit the crime! Looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life is a much longer self-punishment than that imposed on Sweetie and Bull!
* Darwin Award does NOT necessarily mean death ... just removal from gene pool!

I thought that was where this was going, but the surprise that he was there implies this was not really a factor. Turner's death was just a coincidence. Yeah, if Turner was still alive there is a chance it could have come up during the investigation, but then, even with having to deal with his in-laws, he’d have to be interrogated, which would have created a chance of Frank’s story unraveling. Hell, especially considering his in-laws he may have an ever greater reason to cooperate just to save his ass from them.

It seems that he pick a bad wife and she picked the wrong husband given her inclinations.
Well written story with an extreme solution...but maybe not so extreme considering his back ground.

There are a lot of sick fucks out there reading these stories! Killing people over infidelity? Revenge on some level, maybe. But this? In my life I've seen those cold eyes that this soulless character apparently has. I'll repeat, soulless . Expect more out of you JPB.
7 Million Reasonable Doubts
NOT waiting 9 months created 7 million reasonable doubts. JPB initially withholding the dickectomy was classic cop procedure. Wearing clear eyeglasses rather than dark wraparound fit-over sunglasses over regular sunglasses - to defeat facial recognition and human identification - was suboptimal trade craft though.
Another great JPB story. Thanks for writing.

I usually like JPB stories, but this one left me cold. No emotion, no humanity. Not pleasant to read.

It isn't going to be the cops that you've conveniently written as stupid, itll be the mafia that owns the cops that get him when their paid lackies find out that he fingered them for a crime they didnt commit. Between the assho loo e protag and the over the top murders, not much to like here unless you're from Saudi Arabia

... As usual, this is another story well told by JPB in his style, short and to the point. I thank Bob for the story and the ending. You don't always get an ending with Bob.
Had I been the hero in the story I would waited the 9 months and taken half of her stuff. That was his reason for not divorcing her when he discovered the first bed buddy; he didn’t want to get beaten up by the courts. So he commits a capitol felony, loses his share of the inheritance and has cops in two cities sniffing around him.
