Dixie must not be from the REAL South... Y'all is SINGULAR. If you want the plural version, it is "All Y"All"... My only question... does she have to get a divorce? I know that is from another song, but I had the impression that Bert had married her...

sorry many but y'all is for you plus, all y'all is just another version like a regional type thing.that is from a life long southern in memphis.

Y'all is plural

The only time you use it in the singular is when you are talking to someone who represents a group or organization. It's reasonable to ask a store clerk "Have y'all got any eggs?" because you are not asking about his personal supply of eggs, but about whether the store has any.

"All of y'all" is no more the plural of "y'all" than Standard English "all of you" is the plural of "you". It's used in the same situations as "all of you", as in "Y'all (pointing to the bride's family) sit over there, and y'all (pointing to the groom's family) sit over here, and *all of y'all* clap when they kiss!"
