Please don't mess up your languages

Nice story, but you should never include things from a foreign language if you don't know the language yourself, unless you have a friend or editor who DOES know what's required.

If this lady is French, then she's Madame la Comtesse, not L'Contessa, which is Italian, but neither language uses L' before a consonant. Jacque is normally spelt Jacques (the "s" is silent). Also, French is one of the many languages which assigns a gender to nouns. That means your adjectives must match their nouns, so, as an example, it's "ma" (feminine) "cherie" (feminine), not "mon" (masculine) "cherie."
