A real funny read, and a pleasure to read...

A real funny read, and a pleasure to read...It would even be a good script to a Hollywood film...4*

Short and sweet. Right to the point, without fucking around, pardon the pun.

Fun read. I enjoy stories about bright people and devious minds. I just barely made it in to MENSA, and in spite of daydreams, I have never killed anybody, but I can imagine the deeply twisted minds told here. I think Britt is the sharper one though.

Didn't like it

No drama, no emotion. Just a guy who can get what he wants when he wants. I found it dull and boring.

Very Fun

And interesting story. I really liked the different angle and the surprise in the middle! Well told, fund characters and great ending!
Thank you and please keep writing!

Follow Up?

Great characters and an intriguing story - but I wonder if they're going to stay together. They're both very dangerous, but both think they're the smartest person they know. Either could decide he or she could get away with cheating. Do you have a sequel in mind?

Well done

Interesting mechanism for getting slave labor for the state....
Really the two of them together are no threat to society but if there are
any wolves around, they may be exterminated.

Sorry LVGirl, no sequel

They will not cheat on each other -- against their DNA; plus no matter how smart you thought you were do you think that you'd take a chance that your known killer spouse might get away with killing you too?

Poison Ivy Oil -- OUCH!

Just reading about rolling in and then breathing poison ivy oil made my skin crawl and my breath come up short. I have a feeling that after a week or more of intense pain with poison ivy rashes all over their bodies, and reduced lung capacity to boot, that Sharon and Jeremy will be very sorry that they cheated.
One of the better revenges!

Not so smart

Urushiol is very irritating for the majority of humans who are (or who become) sensitive to it. That is, as an external contact dermatitis. As an internal (lung tissue) exposure to massive amounts, it is a MUCH more serious, likely fatal, issue!

Since he was re-captured shortly after that pay-back episode, it is likely the personnel of the Criminally Insane institution were aware of his unfaithful Sweetie and would have become aware of that crime. Even helping with physics problems would not keep him from being tried for this new revenge (probably double murder!)

BTW ..Senior staff don't go out on capture missions ... with or without Tasers!

3*. Just a bunch too much adolescent fantasy!

Just as a side note

The first person ever found not guilty by reason of temporary insanity was Dan Sickles, later a Union general of some notoriety. He killed his wife and her lover after catching them in bed, pled temporary insanity and set the precedent for such verdicts in the 1850's.

Entertaining Read

Chuckled a lot, thanks!
It wasn't Elizabethan times but Victorian and comes from a marriage guidance book of the late nineteenth century.

Excellent

Great tale. Sounds like a perverted Sheldon Cooper. But Brit is definitely not Penny. Original.

Five Stars

Just a rant sorry

Story is fine and worth a smile for its different little twists of plot. It contains one of my pet peeves about which I am going into lecture mode. It is pedantic a hell and for some reason that is the second time today I have pedantic. Oh well. Two things about something this story hinges on. One the word genius. In general the higher the IQ the possibility for genius may be more possible. In practicality there is not as much correlation as might be expected because the need for creativity is more a characteristic of genius than pure cognitive ability. It is how the person uses that intelligence. In common sense terms can that person think outside the box. The most intelligent person I ever dealt with had that ability. While in grad school part of my time was spent in a team(all with IQs measured at over 145 including me) attempting to devise a test to measure with scientific validity the intelligence of a 14 year PhD student. He already had one PhD and was gong after another is a related field. Every attempt to test his intelligence he did so easily it was not valid nor reliable. Sometimes he would play with us and tell us what he was going to score and do so. He was a genius. Another high IQ person I worked with I was more a genius than him. The highest functioning genius we never got a good reading on her because she would solve the problems in ways that had been normed so they could not be scored. (Norms is a psych term that would take too much time to explain but is the basis for being able to give scores) The second thing that bugs me is that folks use a score as though that score in a truthful difference. Not so fast my friend. Like in the story lets look at 180 and 170. Same intelligence basically. Two reasons. Any IQ over 145 on test I was trained on or helped develop had to be pro rated. That means we had to use statistical gyrations to get a number. The tests were only normed up to 145. Meaning there were not enough people testing at those levels for us to be able say that this is what someone scoring this score would answer again the next day and someone of the same ability took the test they would score the same. Another problem that test makers do not want you to know is that the tests are not that accurate. First thing to know. Tests are designed to measure something called standard deviation. On the most used tests these are 15 points. When psychologists talk about IQ they will not use a score they will talk about a person being so many standard deviations above or below the norm. So a score of 115 is one standard deviation above the norm or mid point of 100. It is called high average. 130 is two standard deviations and called very superior. 120-130 is the range called superior. 145 is 3 standard deviation and is called very superior also. It is important in that only 3 standard deviations are normed on most test. Note that the word genius is not used because of other factors that must be considered. Now the big secret. It is called STANDARD ERROR OF MEASURE. That is what error is there in scores that are just because of how the test is made. The most used test had a error measure of plus or minus 8. That means that if the same person took the test 3 times the score on time could measure 117. The next 109 and the next 125. This would put that person in the high average range on one test take, the average range on one and the superior range on one. This means that just because of the way test are made there can be a sixteen point difference in scores. That is the best reliability test construction allows in practicality. So this is why it bothers me some when folks use the scores as though they mean a big deal. See Wiki for more info. Some decent explanation there.

a couple of side notes

I have never heard of a machinist being paid piecework.
Usually if there is work they are worked at least 40 hours a week and often more, with the idea being to get as much production from them as possible.

Beryllium copper is highly toxic, most machinists would avoid working with it except with major safeguards in place.

A machinist willing to work beryllium copper and only who works piecework would be too well remembered for someone trying to keep a low profile.
Avoid attracting attention, that is how a smart escapee stays free.

Justice?

Killing a cheating slut, or bastard, and their lover should not be a major crime. A misdemeanor at most. Therefore I can enjoy seeing these two scam the system and eventually get to enjoy their freedom.

Well, not entirely to my taste...

Beryllium copper... yah, I knew someone who was facing some brake drums made of the material (a race car, I think..), he said he tried to donate sperm (he said that they use it in fertility and contraception research) for a giggle afterwards, and found that all of his were non-viable... he blamed the beryllium.

IQ tests? Yah - test how well you take tests, mostly... and if you are off the charts, as it were, either way the differences are due to very few of the questions on the test. So, the tests just aren't very meaningful out there.

But all of this is secondary to the portrait of off-the-charts intelligence... Big Bang Theory is really portraying high function autism. I think that the BBC's Sherlock is better - at least they don't have the Holmes brothers as hopeless dweebs (although Moriarty tends that way). Here in LW, DQS's "The Last Goodbye" seems plausible to me as the actions of the off-the-charts types.

Here, the protagonist is a spiteful little bitch... and not nearly as clever as he thinks. Not, I suspect, the stuff of genius.

YMMV

One of your good stories. I liked it.

No wishywashy pussy cucks, no brainless whoring cunts.

Good job
