Thanks for your question. As I've said in my comments about other writers' stories, I think that the wait makes the incest sex more plausible. Relatives are attracted to each other in reality, but rarely act on it due to the social stigma. Even those family members who have a mutual attraction would not just say "Let's fuck" to each other and start ripping their clothes off. In real life someone would probably concoct a seduction plan and move at a careful pace.
