Dear Sir: I think You Hit The Nail square on Target. I saw the Play and it Made Me Laugh, Cry and I got Ill. I Vomitted Outside. What I Missed,maybe the last 5 minutes I felt Better until the Show was over.Maybe it's a Stand for Lesbianism but as a Heterosexual. I wouldn't recommend it.

I haven't seen the show
I have to take a stance squarely in the middle because I have never seen the show. And, for that matter, I am a guy, so no way it's going to mean to me what it does to the women who wrote it and perform it and watch it. But I never liked feminist guy-bashing, which I have seen on stage.

from a male perspective, women think of themselves as completely supperior to men. think about it, how often do you hear things like, "all men are good for is opening jars, killing bugs, and reaching tall things." it bothers me that men are regarded as accessories and that the only true importance in life is what the woman "feels." women are guided almost entirely by emotion and hormones. the emotional stability of any woman gives humanity much to fear as we realize this. hormones peak and valley every few weeks thus skewing female brain chemistry and emotions. guys tend to look at things from a much more stable perspective.
what really gets me is that women take an approach to equality of if i'm not better than you, we're not equal enough yet. it reminds one of a line from an old book... "all [people] are created equal, some more equal than others."

All I remember
All I remeber about this thing was a woman sitting on a stool repeating the word "Cunt" for what seemed an awfuly long time. With this review it all came screaming back. I was 17 or so when I saw it. My mother had taught me that it was a "real bad word" up there with "nigger" and it was odd to see it. Now before you wonder about my mother she tought my older brother to read with a playboy.

Regardless of my gender or opinion of The Vagina Monologues, people who exhibit and condone attitudes similar to unculbact are exactly what's wrong with the world today. You, sir, are the reason people like Lorena Bobbitt do exactly what they do and the reason feminists came into existence. I hope that someday you are able to obtain a full personal experience of the pain and misery you yourself glorify. You give humanity a bad name and are a perfect representation of why so many people around the world hate the US.

I think there are a lot of legitimate criticisms to be brought to bear on the vagina monologues, but this tripe reads like the high school jock date rapist all growed up with a state university education to give his misogyny that lovely pseudo-intellectual veneer. "Wrestling with girls in the back seats of cars or slapping them up when they got mouthy, the fast cars and motorcycles we used as mobile platforms for hooting at girls"... well, at least you establish right off that you're a calloused abusive bastard who gets off on being on the giving end of patriarchy. No matter how boring The Vagina Monologues are, an some of the bits are amazingly boring, Eve Ensler makes valid points about the suppression of women and the repression of sexuality for everyone.

This could have been much better.
I found the Vagina Monologues to be partly boring and partly entertaining. But let's face it dude, this was less a legitimate review of a play you didn't like than you ranting about women and how you don't feel that they deserve respect as human beings. If it was meant to be ironic, I missed that, but I have to say that I didn't find this particularly entertaining, and had I not seen the play (which I thought was all right, neither good nor bad) I don't think this would have affected my opinion at all.

Like the author, Eve Ensler is an avowed heterosexual, and like the author, she has no empathy for the opposite sex. Don't mistake this work for lesbian porn. It isn’t lesbian porn any more than the cloned Barbie dolls in Girls Gone Wild making out is lesbian porn. The sex that we have is fascinating to straight men and women alike for various reasons--in part because you heteros can't seem to communicate with each other. I didn't like the Vagina Monologues either, but I don't blame all women or feminists for it. It isn't necessary to go that far: I simply don't go to, or support, the shows. It's that simple.
Read some Norah Vincent or Judith Butler if you’re still convinced that the female-man-hating in the world is by lesbians.

Most people that express hatful attitudes towards a group are mostly ignorant. Anti-feminst people are the low lives who won't get any jobs because they don't know how to get along with other women. Face it, women are everywhere in the work world.
