Could have been good, but it's such a dumb blackmail. Like most blackmail stories on this site, the first blackmail was nothing and could have been explained away. It's the follow up that gets them, but the initial threat is so weak, it's just not realistic. Sounds silly, but it's important...this guy is obviously smart enough to know the secondary orders are being logged and are more incriminating, so he would just cut his losses.

In this day and age, if you are over twelve years old, and do not know your online activity stays with you forever, you're too stupid to hold a job worth keeping.

Assuming the MC is the exception, too stupid and very lucky, his reply to the first blackmail email should have been something like:

Go ahead and send it. After I sent your first email to our IT department, they started tracking. I hope you're good enough to cover your tracks. Thanks to you, my company now knows I can be trusted, even at the risk of blackmail, and my wife will know that online porn is my only mistress. If she truly loves me, she will accept it, if not, I get to learn sooner rather than later. Hell, I might luck up and find she has closet kinks too. Sounds like a win/win to me.
