I enjoyed it, and am looking forward to the next chapter!

You need to use an editor - There are several times when a word is missing or the wrong word is used. There are also a few times where you use a question mark at the end of a sentence that is not a question, such as:

"I thought they usually don't do research apart from their main jobs?"

Overall though, very enjoyable!
