Mult-millionaire in September years phase of his life pulling elaborate scam spent 2 years with a beautiful Salma Hayek doppelganger to get back a mere 60 large ? That's chicken feed compared to what a beautiful, fairly good natured woman is worth.
The author and I will have to disagree on the worth of comely Latinas. But other then then that there was a lot to enjoy especially torn from headlines 'mercenary matrimony' premise and contemporary Cuban setting. The happy ending that seemed initially unlikely was crowning touch
If I had all his money and power, and my sister had been scammed like that, I would have just paid a couple of heavies to rough up the scammer and promise to do it again regularly until he paid.
This would have removed the possibility of disease and romantic attachment. Also of having to invest two years in a revenge "marriage".
However, then we wouldn't have had this story to enjoy. Enjoy it I did!
Didn't see the twists coming in this one - well done. My dad has a saying, "never underestimate the power of a woman," and this story illustrates that saying very nicely! Five stars.
There is always a light and airy feel to most of your stories. This is not a criticism. Just a 'tone' which distinguishes it from more dolorous fare (the 'lighter' side of adultery)
You really pounded his wealth into the ground this story. Granted, with 'the greatest socialized healthcare in the world' I am surprised he needs a concierge doctor (but that is a nice little detail of the two toned system in Canada)
The story has...plausibility problems, but the woman is very much alive in my imagination, so I give credit where credit is due.
First of all, I don't think there is such a thing as a better looking version of Salma Hayek (ha, ha); but if so, Zamira's looks made me jealous! That said, I loved the story. I can see how if he was getting great pussy he could string out his revenge for two years, and how once she left he realized that it was love -- regardless of the letter she sent to his solicitor. Anyway, 5* from me!
Loved the story. At first, I thought it was real.
My true story. Met Chinese lady on Internet. After 4 months and maybe 500 video chat hours, I flew from Philadelphia to Mianyang to meet her. Got married 2 days later. Spent 23 weeks in China on 3 visits, wife now has green card and lives in PA with me. I was 63, she was 50. It does work in real life. Been here since 7/15, I am only sorry I didn't meet her many years ago. I got contact info from young 20's girls. Why would any hot woman want someone 3 times age - money and that golden ticket (USA green card). Loved the story though.
I truly was expecting to read that the "temp" who misfiled the letter was actually hired by Zamira, and she actually out-con'd the con artist. I think that would have been a much more interesting ending actually, even though you clearly were leading us down that path with the intro "heart wants..." line. Guess you thought you'd pull a "surprise" ending off, but it actually seemed rather dull (and predictable). The real surprise would have been the con on the con who fell in love but still ran the con... I'm thinking Ernesto and Zamira were actually husband and wife! Ever seen the old Michael Caine and David Niven movie "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"?
Well, that was a nice little yarn ! I did suspect the reverse scam coming, but the happy ending was truly a nice surprise.
I too have a affinity for beautiful Latin women !

Nice story, but there is no hotter version of Selma Hayek. Such a creature could not exist in this world among mere mortals. "After the Sunset" is still the hottest movie with no actual nudity there is.
I enjoyed the story. I'm glad for the happy ending. I was cringing because I expected the surprise scam at the end when he said there was no pre nupt, but glad to know it was true love. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
enjoyed the story
Well written.
AN HONEST SCAM FOR THE CON
turns into unrequited love, TK U MLJ LV NV
A good story...
A good story...About "the spell turning against the sorcerer"...This could easily be placed in "Romance" category...3*
very enjoyable
It could have been in "Romance" but wherever it is,i've got you 5 *****
Weird but consistently madcap & entertaining

Full marks. * * * * *
Sweet Story
Minor quibble: It's "Salma" Hayek, not "Selma"!
Excellent story
and what a nice man he invented.

Nice little story.
Made me wet - and jealous

a con
on the con
Brazil = Portuguese
Hope the wife's were multi-lingual. Needed Spanish and their native tongue.
Delightful Story
This was light and tasty and the near tragedy woke me from a trance;
Happy that it was repairable! High grade for creativity.
More fun with a different ending...

Different than most LW wives
