Great Story, Abrupt Ending

Wonderful story. Well written with an intricate plot and character development. I love how you were able to give each girl her own unique flavor or brand so that it was easy for a reader to draw a picture of each in their mind. Ending needed a ton of work far too abrupt. Some kind of riding off into the sunset scene like them packing up to move on their own. Could have been done in such a way that we didn't know who was even moving.

My only regret is that it ended. Your characters are so solid and full of personality that I want to keep reading about them :) Honestly, the sex scenes kind became secondary to me, I got wrapped up in the drama!

When I saw the title

In the new stories listing, I surprised my wife with an exclaimed "oh goodie".

And as I finished, an "oh darn".

I was rooting for Jazz all along.

Why??

Why did it have to end? What a great story! I can't wait until I can read your next story.

Buy the "We have lived happily ever since" ?! We all wanted this ending but it is still to sudden.

Nicely done....,

Nicely done. As usual, your characters are engaging and extremely well developed. Your dialogue is also quite well written, and allows the reader to follow what's happening very well. If I have one complaint about your stories, it's the endings. They tend to end abruptly or seem rushed. I think an epilogue, would end things off nicely. We become invested in the characters and it seems, to myself, at any rate, like I am/we are being somewhat short changed with the quick and undeveloped endings.

Not nearly as good as the previous 10...

Like so many other authors have done, too impatient to end this. That was a sloppy, abbreviated ending that leaves the reader unsatisfied and far less enamored with the story that preceded it. I'd pull this an re-write it with a more detailed and complete ending.

Great story

Every week I found myself checking to see if there was an update. Every time there was I made sure to read it right away. I never check authors for other stories but you had me hooked completely. Thanks for a truly great story.

Still trying to find a copy of that balloon racer game...

My only complaint across 11 chapters was i felt like the ending was very abrupt. Overall though a great story, with great characters and dialogue.

I'm really glad that Dean and Jazz got together in the end but I feel like this ending was really rushed. I have enjoyed this story greatly though, thank you for writing it.

the ending

I'm not surprised that many are disappointed by the ending. My first instinct was to borrow the ending of the movie 'Good Will Hunting', and make Chapter 10 the last one (no spoilers if you've never seen the film). I compromised and introduced Jazz's family. Like many compromises, I had a feeling that it wouldn't please the majority.

the games

Hot Air Racer sounds like a game that should exist. I'd play it. There is a game like my Stalag idea, called Colditz (though I've never played it). Most of the other games I described are real, or possibly resemble real games. But if anybody has heard of a game like Amazons, I'd love to know.

Absolutely brilliant

Realistic characters, beautiful writing, literal tear in my eye at the ending .. man, I found myself skipping some of the sex scenes to advance the plot! 6 stars out of 5, will read again.

Closest thing I can think of to Amazons might be Republic of Rome, with the intrigue, the in-fighting at home vs the quests away, and the multiple paths or strategies to victory. Longer timeframe and less appealing to the female demographic, though!

Wonderful story, but... poor Valentine!

The sex was good, but the story was even better!

A sequel about Valentine finding the partner she deserves would be wonderful. A girl that self-sacrificing really deserves a happy ending with someone special.

I discovered "Gamers" just this morning, having stumbled upon part 11 in the "New" list. Now, having read the entire series straight through, I'm compelled to commend and thank you for your efforts, and your excellent characterization and pacing in particular. It was an interesting and endearing ride throughout, and I thought the ending felt just right. (I readily admit, it may have helped that I wasn't obliged to wait between chapters.)

One last note: our hero may not have fallen hard for Vee, but I certainly did. A few characters stick with me long after I've finished a story, and I suspect that little Vee will be one of those for quite some time.

Awesome series!

I really liked this story. The characters were believable, relationships appropriately and delightfully complex, engaging and interesting dialog, nice tension between characters, balanced presentation of sex and plot; all in - a wonderful read.

However, I want to share my reaction to the ending. Having been a sailor for a short while in my life, a sailing metaphor came to my mind as I read the last lines of the story. I am enjoying a gorgeous day in the warm tropical sun, the deck is warm, the breeze is gentle, but steady, I can see land on the horizon; we've sailed for the better part of a week to get here, and we, the crew, are all eager for our home, our loved ones, our friends, and to relax after being at sea for several days. It looks like we'll be tied off in less than an hour if everything holds steady...and the wind STOPS.

I know we'll get to port, no storms will divert us, no harm will come to us, but it's...disappointing. And it's gonna take longer, or require us to use other methods to get to the dock. Two miles from shore seems like being a world away.

So, I know the ending of the story, I am waiting for you to gently reintroduce me to the reality that I've willingly suspended to enjoy your crafting. Please figure out a way to bring me ALL the way home.

Sequel?

I really loved this story and would like to read more. While Dean and Jazz get the happily ever after, and I freely admit that a sequel centered on them would either require problems to crop up to threaten that or risk being boring, there are tons of loose threads dangling from the tapestry of your story for their friends, especially for Vee who has been left broken-hearted and alone. Plus I'd love to read more about the cast of characters introduced near the end--Big Ed and his family, friends, and business associates.

Like honestly if this was a Tv series I would watch it like season 1 would be up to the part of Les's sister's cheating, season 2 would be up to the part of jazz leaving, season 3 would be up to when Vee tells dean she didn't make the cards, and season 4 would be the happy conclusion. That's just a example but seriously I want a tv show for this
