I just now read up the entire series to date, and I live how their circumstance has forced them to learn to communicate effectively. Beyond that, they are learning to communicate more fully and openly. It had to have terrified her to be open and honest about her background to him, and you were able to make that so real in the story without explaining the whys and wherefores of it until now. She seems fortunate to have found someone who had previous experience with a "fragile" type of personality, but I'm not so sure, based upon his clues, his previous girl was entirely a borderline like her. Perhaps she was a Anorexic/bulimic instead? Don't those personality types share a lot of similar traits as her Borderline seems to?
