I never thought

to feel sad for the moon, until now...but she isnt alone, I talk to her a lot

the layout is what I like best about this poem, how you have given each subject its own "section" ( still confused with the strophe/stanza debate)
and then tied it all together at the end..glad to have gotten up early and found this poem :)

Some beautiful lines.........

....throughout this poem. I particularly like -

"only lovers
drowning
in each other
sinking through parted flesh
will pause to marvel silently
as Luna kisses her reflection
and sinks into the sea "

A five from me.

Only -

Only a northern prairie boy could get that right! Where are you from again? Those who live on the coast claim the moon as theirs, those in the tropics do the same, but only a soul of the central plains can appreciate the loneliness of a baying crowd or a cacophonous murder. Thanks d'maas.

Moon, crow, coyote et al...

Classic images of solitutde. You use them well.

One lonely moon

I particularly like the coyote passage,
only I didn't know that moon howls were done while running.
"only coyote
loping cross his prairie sea
howls at the moon
in conversation"

The moon echoed here...

Wonderful images all drawn together with the moon. I like the echo of the beginning lines. Well done.

jim : )
