Jared got into the race so he could bring the FBI in to investigate Lewis and the SBI and clean out the corruption within its ranks, which if Lewis had won, would have been shutdown before much of the good work could have been done. And Stockman would have lost spectacularly.

Crowbar is so focused and hot on this one, because of the deaths of one other SBI agent who had led SBI Graves' team, before he was murdered and framed.
