A Pet Peeve
I hate wanna-be-writers (and I use that term very loosely) who are too fucking lazy and unimaginative to create their own characters and their own stories (scenarios). Piggy-backing off another's hard work is pathetic. Creating an original story is time consuming, requires thought and consideration. Simply changing an outcome requires no skill, simply a different opinion, which you did not earn the right to write.
Give your pet peeve a name. Then we can look at your stories. I'll bet they're all so good. The original author who owned the story gave his permission. Who are you to complain? It wasn't your story. By the way, the other SBrooks story is up on SOL, giving that wretched thing RG wrote a decent burial.
I will admit to not be creative enough to create my own stories, that is why I have been reading these stories for years before attempting writing anything.
As for the lazy and unimaginative charges, I suggest YOU try it! It is hard work, definitely NOT for the lazy, and while I may lack the imagination to create the original scenario (and I don't need you to explain story/scenario!), if you seriously believe that it takes no imagination, thought and consideration to come up with, develop and write an alternate outcome, again I suggest that YOU try it!
And as kimi so graciously pointed out, I had BigGuy33's permission to use his scenario.
BTW, I DIDN'T change the outcome, I just wrote MY opinion of what might happen after the original story ended.

As for telling me what my characters SHOULD think, say or do, I have NO problems with that, I do it myself,as you can see!
My problem was with a commenter who was claiming to know what the character WAS thinking, and as the writer I claim the privilege to know that.
Now,if I didn't use the POV shifts that annoyed so many people, you would have a point.If Person A believes something about what Person B is thinking, they can't know any more than you how true that is. And I believe I had Person A admit that he couldn't KNOW,but went with his "gut". But if I switch to Person B's POV, and describe what he/she is thinking, that becomes fact, just as much as if I said they were driving a black Corvette.
BTW, I purposely do NOT call myself an "author" but a writer. A fine distinction I know, but at least in my mind (or are you going to argue with what I'm thinking?) a real one.
I admit to having felt fairly unhappy about the original ending even though I gave it five since I believe that we are trying to evaluate the quality of the stories and not our emotional reactions the characters and their actions. Thus the current story gave me some satisfaction because what happened did not surprise me, but it was rolling along nicely and then stopped. and the damage was done to Mary! She really did not deserve this for trying to help her friend.

Not today, they just disappeared. Yes, we do have moderators and they do police the comments.
Of course, one must be kind and gentle to the kind and gentle. It is necessary to being a good person. The crude, rude and delusional get the one fingered salute. I do disagree, though. I think FLC should always be deleted, along with his two cohorts. It causes them to foam at the mouth. Not an unusual occurrence with FLC, but amusing, nonetheless. His fury reaches incandescence and it's really very entertaining.
As I recall, Randi, you actually deleted two, although at different times. As the most recent name added to your list of the excommunicated, you have apparently decided to delete everything with the Luedon tag on it regardless of content.
I'm not sure of what you achieve by this, but on your own commentaries, you're in control.
For the record, my last comment criticised the two racist anonymice for their stupidity and inability to recognise the advantages of racial diversity.

I have read the other one and can't seem to get my head around the story or the rationalizations you used to get your reconciliation. I think that this is more in line with the people that I know who have gone through this. People who condone cheating are just one step away from it themselves. I mean, if it's ok, why not indulge yourself with a better built or better looking partner, even if you don't plan to make them permanent. I have known several women who were available and who were very tempting but had habits or characteristics that wouldn't allow me to have them around on a fulltime basis. If it were okay to cheat on my wife if I just wanted to try the water in a different pool, a short tryst with them wouldn't be hard to do. But it isn't and I haven't nor would I ever. Near-cheaters and cheaters don't make good friends to straights nor good spouses either.
