Chloe Tzang's most recent story is sweet. Romance attracts excellent writers such as AdrianLeverkuhn.

I read the comments before the story and expected this to be much, much worse than it is! A few vocal readers in this category absolutely hate any story where a wife has extramarital sex and doesn't end up dead or divorced. I know what you're thinking: then why do they read the category that is designated for stories about extramarital fun, swinging, and sharing? When you find an answer to that question, please let me know.
Now, as for your story, I found it lacking in several ways. The decision to tell this tale in the present tense made it difficult to read. The story was told in such a clinical, matter-of-fact manner that it removed any tension or drama. In the end, it was just a sex scene.
I see that you've contributed two other stories, and both have that little red "H" next to them. You won't see that "H" in this category. If ratings are important to you, I'd steer clear of Loving Wives.

This isn't a fantasy straight men like, so who wants this, if a couple did this it would change them, change their marriage, and greatly affect their life together or more likely their lives apart. This is a site for amateur writers. You're paying nothing to read these stories. What is the point of telling an amateur writer that he sucks and his story is crap? Would you stop a street performer and tell him the same? Would you attend an elementary school's talent show and shout at the performers from the anonymity of darkness to tell them how much they suck?
When I criticize a story, I always say why. At least that gives the author some feedback that may or may not be useful. Lamenting about the suckiness of a story and the downward spiral of this category helps no one.

The issue really is cynical definition of "Loving" Wives...

Many of us naively think the "Loving" is used in the more traditional sense but in the stories that apparently meet the Literotica definition there really is no love but lust. Thus the cynicism.
I have grudgingly reached the conclusion the the Laurel cynical definition of the word really applies and this category really is about extramarital sex and that truly loving wife stories fit in under "and more."
There are those who will try to peddle the sophistry that it's more loving for a partner to encourage or permit extramarital sex, swinging, and open relationships with the implication that faithful, honorable, and monogamous relationships are somehow less evolved or open minded. I can't believe I'm going to write this, but I agree with you. Mostly. Re. the name "Loving Wives," I've always considered "loving" in that context to be a verb; not an adjective. If taken in that context, then these stories are consistent.

Why -- WHY -- is sex SO important to those who make such comments? Is there no more to marriage than sex? After reading comments of those who bemoan the ‘Good Ole Days’ of Lit. I did a little research into the archives. I managed to get back as far as 2000 and up to 2005. Guess what—the same type stories were posted back then. I’m not sure when Lit cutoff the public comments; the 00 stories I found didn’t have them. They were in the 05 stories, however and the same comments about LW going to hell in a handbasket were popular.
What does all this mean? Maybe that when you give something to certain people for free they will just trash it; for an example check out the free houses given to the disadvantaged back in the 60’s and 70’s. The numbers are probably reversed for writers. There are far more c/s/s writers.
Raw numbers, you can do the math: 45821 views, 1453 votes for my average consequences story
Top scoring c/s/s story in hall of fame has 199 votes. The two stories have been up a similar time. 199 is about 13 percent of 1453. Views would be about 5900.
Easy to see where the "clique" is. It's a tiny minority of readers but a huge majority of writers. Both groups are probably necessary to the economic health of the site. Reading the titles and authors from the hall of fame also shows where the good writers write.
I always get a laugh out of it whenever someone uses votes, ratings, views, "Hall of Fame" status, etc. as an argument to support their opinion. In other sections of this site, these measurements may be meaningful. Here in Loving Wives? Not so much.
Just as a reminder to everyone, I wrote a story back in May using a pen name. I wrote this story in about 20 minutes, on my cellphone, using my thumbs. I didn't proofread it at all, and I put no thought into it whatsoever before I began writing it. I simply followed the standard BTB template.

I have several stories in other categories with twice that many. 180000 is the top with over 2000 votes. Not a LW story. Some writers I've seen claim to have stories with over a million views. Not LW. I make no claims for other writers, just me. I have no idea about how my numbers are reflective of other writers' experiences, but fairly typical, I suspect. From what I've seen in the threads, I have a high reader to voter ratio. Probably, the better writers have higher ratios. Most things I've read say about 1 percent of readers vote. About 3 percent of mine do, on average. Views shows what people favor more than scores do.

Escort For The Wife!
This was a unique story-line of a couple who expanded their sexual boundaries by hiring an escort for the wife. We rarely see a story where the woman pays for sex and that in itself was hot. My wife has done the same when we were on vacation in the Caribbean.

Okay. That still doesn't address my point about this category. If you're saying you read LW because you're hoping to discover the next "Grief" or "Last Chimes of Fall," that's fine. But it still doesn't answer why you're shocked and/or offended to read a story like this one. Not every story can be "To Kill a Mockingbird."
This is a site for amateur writers. You're paying nothing to read these stories. What is the point of telling an amateur writer that he sucks and his story is crap? Would you stop a street performer and tell him the same? Would you attend an elementary school's talent show and shout at the performers from the anonymity of darkness to tell them how much they suck?
When I criticize a story, I always say why. At least that gives the author some feedback that may or may not be useful. Lamenting about the suckiness of a story and the downward spiral of this category helps no one.

This was obviously a loving couple who branched out of their marriage. Maybe it was a one off, maybe not but there was no humiliation or going behind the others back. Just a husband and wife who wanted to try something new.
I am the first to complain about moronic or asinine plots where the husband is perfect and his supermodel-hot wife cheats on him with a bigger dicked asshat and the wife is so dumb she can't walk and chew gum at the same time, divorces her, ruins her life and then meets and marries an even more beautiful woman and his life is perfect.
This was a good story. A little threadbare but a good start.
The issue really is cynical definition of "Loving" Wives...
on the part of Laurel and Manu as well as those who insist on using the subtitle to redefine "loving."
Many of us naively think the "Loving" is used in the more traditional sense but in the stories that apparently meet the Literotica definition there really is no love but lust. Thus the cynicism.
I have grudgingly reached the conclusion the the Laurel cynical definition of the word really applies and this category really is about extramarital sex and that truly loving wife stories fit in under "and more."
There are those who will try to peddle the sophistry that it's more loving for a partner to encourage or permit extramarital sex, swinging, and open relationships with the implication that faithful, honorable, and monogamous relationships are somehow less evolved or open minded. That mindset that been part of the fabric of the site since the beginning.
The swinging stories don't interest many of us but they probably belong here along with the stab your partner in the back betrayal stories. They address a segment of the audience and while I can't understand their attraction.
However, the FETISH stories.... Sexual Sadism and Humiliation along with Sexual Masochism belong in FETISH in my opinion. The overtly gay stories, and there are many should be published in Gay Male, again my opinion.
Everyone is entitled to comment. I wish commenters would have unique identities (not anonymous) so that real dialogue can be achieved. The excuses for not taking responsibility for posts are completely specious.

I can't believe I'm going to write this, but I agree with you. Mostly. Re. the name "Loving Wives," I've always considered "loving" in that context to be a verb; not an adjective. If taken in that context, then these stories are consistent.
I'm always bewildered by comments like "she can't love her husband because she had sex with another man with her husband's full consent and enthusiastic support." Why -- WHY -- is sex SO important to those who make such comments? Is there no more to marriage than sex? Is it completely impossible for a married couple to have a little fun and explore their sexuality in a completely safe and consensual way and live happily ever after? I know, literally, hundreds of people who do just that. I realize that's anecdotal evidence, but the nonanecdotal evidence seems to corroborate.

After reading comments of those who bemoan the ‘Good Ole Days’ of Lit. I did a little research into the archives. I managed to get back as far as 2000 and up to 2005. Guess what—the same type stories were posted back then. I’m not sure when Lit cutoff the public comments; the 00 stories I found didn’t have them. They were in the 05 stories, however and the same comments about LW going to hell in a handbasket were popular.
What does all this mean? Maybe that when you give something to certain people for free they will just trash it; for an example check out the free houses given to the disadvantaged back in the 60’s and 70’s. Today a little drive down any southern backroads will give ample testimony to the failure of LBJ’s ‘Great Society’ in the form of taxpayer provided single family dwellings that are falling apart from abuse

I didn't even read the story, much less comment on it. @Foolscap and Crkcppr: I did the numbers. There are about 85 percent more readers and voters for consequences stories than there are for cuckold/swinging/sharing stories, based on the stories I've written. The numbers are probably reversed for writers. There are far more c/s/s writers.
Raw numbers, you can do the math: 45821 views, 1453 votes for my average consequences story
Top scoring c/s/s story in hall of fame has 199 votes. The two stories have been up a similar time. 199 is about 13 percent of 1453. Views would be about 5900.
Easy to see where the "clique" is. It's a tiny minority of readers but a huge majority of writers. Both groups are probably necessary to the economic health of the site. Reading the titles and authors from the hall of fame also shows where the good writers write.

Just as a reminder to everyone, I wrote a story back in May using a pen name. I wrote this story in about 20 minutes, on my cellphone, using my thumbs. I didn't proofread it at all, and I put no thought into it whatsoever before I began writing it. I simply followed the standard BTB template.

I would like to go back to read inventive, original writing, one that comes to mind is "Water" by radk. Another one even though it was a long story had me 'hooked' from the start, I think the story is "The cuckold diet challenge" or something like that by FTDS. It doesn't matter whether a LW story is "BTB" or "cuck." It will get a ton of eyeballs, votes, and comments just because it's in the LW category. My LW stories have generated roughly 39,000 page views per story, and most of my stories are not BTB. I've written stories in eight different categories, and those usually generate far fewer views, votes and comments.

I disappeared for a while because this is a shitty, toxic community with nothing really worthwhile coming out of it. But a certain author, carvohi, begged me to come back to read his newest stories (after he personally insulted my wife but before he had his meltdown about how no one really understand his genius and his subtle plotting and declare he was taking his ball and going home). The stories I took the stats from were both LW stories, "Cobblestone Streets," for me. The stories were of similar age, so I used them.
Loving wives is not the most popular category, by far. It starts fast, but doesn't have much of a finish. The most views I have on a LW story is 72,000 and some odd. I have several stories in other categories with twice that many. 180000 is the top with over 2000 votes. Not a LW story. Some writers I've seen claim to have stories with over a million views. Not LW. I make no claims for other writers, just me. I have no idea about how my numbers are reflective of other writers' experiences, but fairly typical, I suspect. From what I've seen in the threads, I have a high reader to voter ratio. Probably, the better writers have higher ratios. Most things I've read say about 1 percent of readers vote. About 3 percent of mine do, on average. Views shows what people favor more than scores do.

This was a unique story-line of a couple who expanded their sexual boundaries by hiring an escort for the wife. We rarely see a story where the woman pays for sex and that in itself was hot. My wife has done the same when we were on vacation in the Caribbean.
