As a vignette, it's a well written piece, but probably suffers in the voting for the same reason. The feelings and the tension are very well expressed, but there is a lack of depth due to the shortness of the story and the characterisations being unexplored. How did they get there? Who are they? etc etc.

A hot piece of writing though. Would be nice to see something new :-)
