Could have left out the whole interaction with Eallo. Didn't enjoy all the focus on the male on male and didn't see that entire bit added anything of substance to an otherwise strong story development. I figure it must be a personal kink. But.... it's your story to tell and as always the rest of it was masterfully done. A brief note of thanks

If you'll forgive the brevity, I have just returned from the Emergency Room and had to leave my husband at the hospital overnight. It has been a rough day so bear with me.

It's been so nice seeing so many familiar usernames on this chapter so far and I truly appreciate your well wishes and appreciation for what I do. lanncer, ms904191, Methusalem, kuhpa01, fanfare, Anons Thankyou, Satisfying, and GOAT (that's a new one..I was thinking sacrificial ;) ), new pace, lonecrow, sailandoar, and Jadesphire. My genuine thanks in a vulnerable moment.

Anon-A bit less: My dear one, I believe that you didn't enjoy the focus, and that's okay. However, no, I could not have cut out the scenes with Eallo. If you do not see what it added to the storyline and the characters (which is going to come into play in future chapters) that is your self-selected blindfold.

The entire story is my personal kink, beautiful reader, and if you have no protest over the gang bangs, the lesbian scenes, the non-consent, the power games, the rituals, the sexual wrestling, the straight scenes, the chaste scenes, the threesomes, the group sex, the romance, and anything else, then please as a favor to me, consider questioning why you think bisexual males have no purpose to the story.

Anon-Satisfying: To clarify, it was briefly discussed where Soul Drinker could go among the characters. Lethrix would claim it if it meant otherwise that it would be roaming around wrecking havoc in his Underdark. Lethrix granted Morix guardianship for the time being while he claimed guardianship over Xalli and her unique armor. More will come up on that as well. :)

Concerning the story, as always, I want to voice some thoughts/question and invite everyone who wants to comment along.

First of, I actually wanted to compliment you on the male threesome and how you wrote it. Even though it is not my kink it was actually arousing and enjoyable to read and that counts for a lot in my book.

The second and, for me, most curious scene was the destruction of the bloodstone and what that scene meant. I'm not sure what exactly you wanted to show us but I have to ask.. is Sirana on the verge of using pure To'vah magic and not just their words? Hard to discribe what I actually mean with that. Or is it that she combines To'vah with her psionics and makes something completely new and unknown even to the dragons?

Third thing: GO XALLI GO!!! My new favorite character of your story :) Hope to see her every now and then.. seeing her growth and her struggle to adapt.

Last thing: Would Mourn and Lethrix fight would he sleep in the underdark and awake more dragon than he ever was? Are all halfbloods getting more and more like their sires until they are pure To'vah?

its a novella. i thought at the beginning, you were going to give resolution to loose ends mostly, which i would not mind. vuthra'tern's state and draegloth.

qivni plotline continues on. really are many characters, relationships, relations in this chapter, perhaps having their last scene. enjoyable tales.

Author, Sorry about the difficulty with your husband; hope he recovers quickly and completely. This chapter had a lovely ending with Sirana forgiving her mum - they both needed that. Glad we have another Red Sister preggers. Author you have created some amazing characters. The intricacy and complexity of this series is beyond anything I have ever read (and I am on old fart who read Tolkein out loud to the kids). Amazing.

Potential plot hole?

Graul was hoarding along with hes master. They had to play for each new valuable token to decide who gets it - that suggests that Graul amassed quite a fortune. He was also aware of hes mortality and nearing end of hes lifespan. Galean shares at least some part of him .. so what happened to Grauls stash? Doesnt it mean that Galean suddenly will get richy rich? Or maybe pulls some new powerfull magic items out of "nowwhere"? Without the clear anwser it sure looks as plot hole now.

PS I see in the next installment another surface half dragon ( or even full dragon) as arch enemy, Morix sleeping forcing our demigods party to deal with that on their own.

Concerning the point about Sirana using Draconic, the way I understand it:

Premise: Mages can control and manipulate things/beings using their magic, Psions can do the same using their psionic talent/will.

Every magical language is an expression of thought to focus the inherent magic. This focus might as well be done without words (see Lethrix) but it's easiest like this.
Everytime a magical word is spoken it presses out the will of the mage to the surrounding area which to some degree can be felt by psychically sensitive beings (I think the expression "ripples in the cristalline" came up somewhere). Draconic as the first language of magic - and arguably the strongest - expresses pure thought and thus the ripples are strongest when it's used.

Sirana was exposed to Draconic and the "psionic aftershocks" for more than half a year now, so she made a connection between the words and the intention behind it. Now she seems ready/capable to revert the process using the words to focus her will.

My husband is recovering, although worries remain. Have to give him time to heal and see how things shake out. The story will continue, though I haven't been able to work on it recently; it's a more worthy focus of my energy rather than letting worry sap it away. Thank you also for commenting on this chapter; I am grateful for the reflection and thoughts shared with a big "closure" chapter.

@Methusalem: Thank you for the compliment.. ^_^ The chance to expand on Auslan's development in particular was one thing I was waiting for. A few readers have told me they would have preferred if I'd never brought him into the spotlight--but see, if he fit into a nice little box, then he'd never change, and while that would make him easy for these particular readers to ignore in favor of more conventional characters, that's not why I'm writing him. He's a pan-amorous soul capable of some of the greatest highs and lows of spiritual sexuality, and incredibly important to this story. I will always treat this with the dignity it deserves. (Plus I've heard from LOTS of women who think that scene was "delicious" and "hawt". :P)

It's almost *too* simplistic to me, at this long-arrived point, to think, "I didn't like that. It must not be important, just a 'personal' thing of the author, it doesn't count." But if that makes a person feel better, I have to wonder about the world-view one is protecting while still claiming to enjoy this story. Freedom of mind starts with freedom from fear.

On the bloodstone, Xalli, and Mourn's Sleep:
1. Flying_sheep has expressed an excellent presentation of this "magic theory" in the story thus far, and I intend to explore this scene more soon. :) That was not a "final" scene of a plot thread but the beginning of its resolution.
2. I can always write side-stories. ;) Xalli will be interesting for years to come for me. I'm glad you like her!
3. Mourn's development is one of the last characters to get the full treatment. He's been a practical leader and supporter in all manner of crises up until now, shoring up vulnerabilities with his own strength. But he has kept so much to himself about his own struggles as he enters another time of change for himself. We're just starting to see the cracks now, and finally the other characters have strengthened enough to be able to support him. :) Give me another few chapters to answer your questions.

On "Family Ties," there actually does exist a family tree now. Axelotl made one based on my stick-sketch, because a patron and Patreon requested it for one of his rewards. I haven't had a chance to update the Red Sister website in a long time but that's where I'll put it eventually. Of course, I've got so many far art pieces from him, I'm thinking of making his own book out of them. ;) So little time to do all I want...

@gatorhermit: Hello! I saw your first comments in the "20s" and recognized you as a new reader. @Smutol: Haha, well, I see that you enjoyed Graul's bonus story and were paying attention. ;) Fun to see where your mind ended up; mine has already been here. This isn't a plot hole so much as it's simply an unanswered question I haven't had opportunity to explore, and it has potential. Story's not done yet!

@flying_sheep: Thank you for writing this out, you've done an excellent job. I would clarify that magic and psionics are both manifestations of Will, but methods for access and focus depend highly on one's make-up, sensitivities, affinities, and, of course, how they can communicate this Will (their "language").

The Magic/Words comes through the three Sibling Deities, Musanlo and his Sisters; the Psionic/Thought came through the Psionic God--reasonable symbolism for there would be far more mages than psions on this world. The Draconic language was the first magical language.

Your theory for Sirana's development is sound, and I will develop it more in the story, I promise.

I will also mention one thing it seems a lot of readers missed, from Ch 36, tying into the end of Ch 38: Isboern and Xalli searched for Sirana on the crystal plane, and she "taught" them Draconic Words in desperation to use in that place to free her--but Isboern and Xalli needed Musanlo's Blessing to do it. There are now 3 individuals who have combined Word and Thought in a trance, and one who has done it while conscious. There is some overlap to Elder Minds in this event, but I haven't revealed enough details get, just a trickle so far.

More development to come, of course. ^_^ Thank you, everyone.

So many questions answered and so much hope for the future. I admit a little twinge at Auslan siring a child now that he's committed to Sirana but I reminded myself that this is not my world and my human morals don't transfer. You explained it well and I've made peace with it.

Can't wait for the next chapter and the next arc in Sirana's adventures!

morix's agenda

it occurs to me the troupe is leaving the underdark. what was morix's agenda in the underdark? was it to depose the valsharess? smite the abyssal influence? he seems satisfied to leave, i assume his agenda was achieved mostly. he had a reunion with vian and his old squad, but morix is not interested in vuthra'tern, his upbringing home.

Your work just continues to grow stronger with every chapter. In lead up to this chapter, I got the impression there was to be a hiatus before you started on the next 'phase', so I was pleasantly surprised to hear you are continuing on with ch 39. I was anticipating a new title and Ch 1, not 39. Not sure where I got the idea. Will have to go back and read over some of the comments, again, if I get that curious.

Hope my suggestions passed on from AARP help. Don't know if you have the option to not pay, (credit rating, etc), but that's what the 'leaders' of the country say to do if you don't have insurance, 'Just go to the ER, you can't be refused.'

Though when I did that a number of years ago after I became disabled, but before I got SS Disability & Medicare, (took 4 yrs due to lack of SS judges.. thanks to Bush), the hospital said no problem, we will write it off, then they came after me for it, anyway, the bastards.

But they couldn't get blood from a turnip, nor money from someone who had lost everything because of the 4 year delay in SS, so they got nothing.

In my younger days, I was in Sports Medicine, worked in college & pro sports, (baseball & football), and could advise you on some things to prevent/manage/treat overuse injury. I might also be able to help with making your work space more ergonomic, as I've had my own go-rounds with shoulder/wrist/forearm problems over the years, and have learned a few things.

Heh, actually it was rejected a second time yesterday for the same reason. ;) But I checked it several times and I think Laurel mistook the mention of my "Author bio page" (which is allowed and I have done before) as a direction to another website so rejected it again. I resubmitted adding "Literotica Author page" instead and sent her a private message yesterday explaining that it should be within the rules of the site now and the second time was just a misunderstanding.

This is turning a bit into a saga of its own...but not a good one. :P I'm hoping she approves it tomorrow. It's just a regular, ol' sexy-time story, it really shouldn't need this much scrutiny!

At least the good news is Chapter 39 has made it to 22 pages and I nearly have my digital Christmas gift done. :)
