This chapter isn't finished until the parents are told. Of course, it isn't the first time you have done this. Having implied the end, doesn't always make it the end. That is one of the falicies of this type of format. When you shortchange your readers like this, you do them a disservice.

The ending which will set-up the next series best (if we are talking about shutting down Superior Bloodlines) is for Benny and maybe even his brother to be dead, while Priscilla lives, as it sets up a confrontation with Thomas Cook sooner rather than later.
If Priscilla ends up dead, her case is solved as the kidnapping charges are elevated to manslaughter if not murder, meaning the next series wraps this up and then proceeds with a new mystery.

I was riveted and couldn't put it down If this ever wraps up I will be disappointed. There are still lots of strings to follow. Don't tire of this yet.
