Just a few things....

Editor, editor and editor. Read your story out loud to yourself a few times.
You've messed up some tenses and perhaps a few typos here and there.
You did let your readers know this would be short.

I would not consider this long enough to be a chapter.

I'm getting a hint that English may not be your first language because of sentence structure and wording.

I do look forward to seeing where you go with this.
