What will also be germane is the videos to show which hand was used to lob the "smoke bomb" into the campaign headquarters. Also why you want to view older videos containing the suspects to help determine who has what dominate hand.
SOME of your readers may begin to accuse you of "cruel and unusual suspense."
Your writing skill could be compared to "backward walking" which heightens all the senses and forces us to READ VERY CAREFULLY not only the words BUT the way they are expressed and when they appear. Unfortunately for many of us this is still not enough to "solve" the mystery when you do much less each of the details that "after the fact re-readings" reveled were present. Alas we are like Monday morning quarterbacks, we NEVER loose a Sunday game.

And yes, sometimes a clue is left in a previous story, which I should be more careful about, but after all, it *is* a series... :o)
A Trap Has been set along with a bait but will it be a switch?
Unfortunately for our dear Commander, life's not going to be easy. Despite having a breather from Jared's campaign and fixing his back, he now has to solve the murder of a tragic, fallen person, a hero to the people for many years and a dear friend to Chief Griswold and a man who seeks death with his actions of heroics. And despite being a death seeker. Death has finally. Seek. Him.
Or someone did. As the Commander has finally figured out who that person, only the next chapter will we find out. But what guesses can we make? Is it one of Jack Lewis Hitman, trying to pour attention in other venues so that his(failing) campaign won't take much heat, or is it Scott Peterson who by far is being the most dickish with his campaign along with Sherri Daniel Allgood? Or is it Katherine Woodburn, trying to cause a commotion or Thomas P. Cook, who has been a thorn on many sides, including our commander? Or is it someone we don't know.Well Gear UP dear readers, we will know in the next chapter.
But that problem is just a peasize compared to the real problem; the deterioration of the Sheriff's and the Commander's. Why is the Sheriff being so hostile to Donald Troy. Is it due to the situation that Melina gone through that shook him up? Is he really a close friend to Peterson that he's blinded to what his friend ACTUALLY did, leaking information to the Press despite it being a huge violation of being a Officer with a Badge. Or is he being manipulated by an outside force. And is that outside force Melina?
As many readers have pointed out, she has been MIA for most of the Watchman's story since the end of Westboro's arc. And she's been suspicious since she recruited Goth Girl Kathy who we all know she is a danger to everyone even her own family and might incur the Iron Crowbar's wrath. Which is confusing since if Julie Newton cares for her innocent sister despite the Sion's misgivings so why isn't Kathy the same? Does she hate her family that much like Ned and Todd?
And not to mention some readers have pointed out, Melina, maybe jealous of the Crowbar's marriage to her own sister. Which makes absolutely no sense at all. Melina cheated on him with Jack Burke, was and still is in love with Jack Burke until the event of his death. In fact as we learn in the Dream Weaver arc, despite being in a supposed monogamous relationship with the Crowbar, she cheated on him again, with Jack Burke. Why would she be jealous I have no idea. That or she has HUGE issues since we all know she's a racist.
In fact why didn't Don continue his relationship with Melina despite banging both of her and her sister at the same in the same place since he has several, for a lack of better words, bay mamas. Was the wound to deep to continue on?
Apologies but I digress. With all the questions that the Watchman has thrown at us, how long will he make us wait for answers? Will we find out where Melina's loyalty lie, with her family or the White Supremacist she is implied to serve? Will Daniel realize his anger is not directed at the proper direction or is he becoming like Angela Harlan? Will Scott Peterson get his proper dues? And will the people finally realize what type of bastard Jack Burke really is? Well other than the Iron Crowbar of course. And Laura since she knew what evil he really carried. And, err, a few girls who might not have consented to him. Either way, the keeper of the Crowbars records, the WifeWatchman knows and all will be revealed......at a pace that I can't guess how.

Ps: Hey Wifewatchman, hope you're not too annoyed by my recaps and reviews as I try to put a summary for your stories. And will we get the Justice Vs Vigilante confrontation that you talked last chapter soon? Really looking forward to that plot. Well, see you next chapter.
I am pleased to see that Vincent has touched on the good old Sheriffs wife and ICs ex Melina, as someone who needs a careful eye kept. Melina is a wet for the CIA and has an issue with what went on in other stories. The Right Handed gunman is an easy one for the IC as he knows and watches all as he is a people watcher and notices such things. Remember Brownlee when he was setting up crimes and shot the person dead in the street he was right handed. Not many of us are both handed like the IC is and Left handed people do stand out more, so the IC will know. My gut feeling is for Brownlee and he was after the Dep Chief, to get his old job back, He liked the DA guy so his attack on the ADAs campaign office is a possible as well. The Sheriff is getting grief off his wife and is such a wuss he follows without question. Would like to see Cook or better still Lewis take one to even the score of good via bad. Keep them coming WW really good and I am even feeling the grief of our fallen Hero. Lesson for IC2 about going in to save others, only need to do it once to often and you stop the bullet and your life. 5 cheeseburgers all around.
I have no problem with your thinking-out-loud comments: they show me some of what people are perceiving and thinking about my stories, which is good info to have. Some of what you guess is accurate while some is nowhere near the mark, and I don't comment on either so that I don't give away things for future stories.

Isn't Brownlee LEFT-HANDED? I'm thinking that Brownlee is trying to force his way into a Police position. What he probably will do is be FORCED into a Police DIRECTED position instead! UNDER THE JAIL!

I will answer the second question first. Smedley was killed because he put his body between Deputy Chief Harlow (the intended target) and the gunman, when he moved to protect her.
As to who killed Joe Smedley, the person either is someone who is or was a member of the TCPD who has something against both Jenna Stiles and Della Harlow, i.e. an ally of Brownlee (because Brownlee is too fat and stupid to pull those things off by himself); and/or has a vested interest in seeing Krasney re-elected DA and Brownlee re-installed in a high position within the TCPD. This person may also be homophobic as Jenna Stiles is a bisexual lesbian, and some people don't like to see someone like Jenna elected into public office. The list of male characters who could fit these parameters could include, Steve Ikea (who is a former TCPD detective and I believe hates Cindy and is homophobic), Scott Peterson (who has a TCPD background and has made a series of bad choices), The reporter Hardwood (who may be trying to protect one source and put into place a former source), Thomas Cook (who gets Krasney to do his bidding and is backing Brownlee to get his old job back) and a rogue cop from the Harold Malone days who has not been outed as corrupt yet, but who the Crowbar suspects. I doubt anyone closely tied to State Senator Woodburn, like her aide, as the trap is obvious and she is endorsing Jenna Stiles over Krasney,
I believe the trap will work as I believe the perp is not that intelligent or can easily be blinded by their own desires.
