What I don't get is the enthusiasm for the revenge and the guys who don't think our 'hero' went far enough.
As I understood it, the wife and her mother were a couple of nasty pieces of work. They didn't though, do anything illegal.
Our 'hero' and his (unlikely) friends indulged in breaking and entering, assault, false imprisonment, theft, fraud, counterfeiting, abduction of children, unauthorized use of equipment, and a good lawyer could dream up more. They also left a elderly couple, one of whom (the husband) had done no wrong, facing their old age in poverty.
Yet writers here think he should have done even more?

I love reading about arrogant stupid women. Just because the courts give them leverage, doesn't mean they will come out ahead. In Henry's case, screw the courts. That part is great. Not a lot of buildup, just a quick flash that was a fun read.
Out-F'ing-standing..... Only thing that should be added to the story --- is Henry (aka. his spies) will be watching Laura for the next 15yrs. Any guy she gets engaged too or serious with - WILL receive an anonymous package of information to include slut photo's, telephone recordings, original marriage license, etc --- just to insure this new sucker is never blindsided by her and her mother, again!
The worst of it is in most States (that do not allow Adultery as divorce-able) the husband is 99% of the time the looser via the one-sided court system that upholds the assumption the mother is always best. And forget about fairness with State Social Child Welfare agencies (when a woman is the agent/case-worker). Our Divorce system is corrupt and biased against the husband - driving them to actions in this story - providing they have the means/connections to do it (which likely only 5% might have). I'm not one of the 5%, when this almost happened to me I looked for my one old gold Vietnam 45ACP round.

Over the years, I have questioned people as to their memories of their early years. I have some of when I was 3. Most people I questioned didn't recall anything prior to first grade. Plus he can always tell them that ''mommy'' is dead.
Once he establishes a new relationship chances are Laura will be forgotten.
Remembering this story is fiction...Laura deserved all that pain and then some. Your pleading her case makes me wonder if you share her attitude.
She and her parents got what they deserved. Hope the children got a new mom in the near future, someone who can be a loving partner and parent.
