there's something magic
...about iambic meter. If done well (I'm not versed enough to say if it's flawless, but it's well enough) like it is here, it may look weird and forced at first, but it pulls the reader in.
And with a magic story like the one you tell here, the sum is greater than the parts. Beautiful.

I'm glad....
I read this longer one. The 1st of March I'm going to
stand in my backyard, in my drawers with cold beer and yell
mindless beach poetry untill my nipples get frozen. Then
I'll go inside and cuss you. This is a neat work and
I wish poetry still had the power it implies.
