I though this was a good story, well written, the build up was good as well and the phone call came just at the right time

Overall a very nice story, but I found the constant comments about each character's race distracting. "The oriental" "the white woman" "the Irish" the "Japanese". It wasn't needed and drew me out the story a bit too much.

I doubt you were trying to be malicious, but referring to Asian-Americans as "Oriental" is a bit like calling African-Americans "colored." It may have been appropriate once upon a time, but nowadays it sounds old-fashioned, condescending and borderline racist.

I somehow missed this little story its first time around. Its quite short but delightful and charming. Vintage Ann Douglas.

Nice, even if the writing is a bit clunky at times. And who ever heard of a Japanese person with green eyes?
