For years...
...my pet nickname for this style of poetry has been "Victorian Formulaic": the constrained, rhyming scheme and patterned delivery, (like an ankle-length dress), hinting at something delicious underneath.
I enjoyed the language, and smiled until the last verse... where the propriety of form was abandoned.

I know how difficult it is to work in a form like this, but you carried it off with aplomb. My only nitpick is why does evil have to be female, while the adventurer is male? Maybe it doesn't matter, but it just struck me as I read it... (and should the line ending in "lark" have a question mark or exclamation point? Maybe an interrobang would have worked best here, lol.) xo, Ange
