this alot.

All I could think of was the Tarot card...but the comparisons you drew were very interesting.

~He's not brave, but fearless,

yet doubt gnaws belly deep,

chews meaty bones and

sucks out the marrow. ~

That's a great verse

Potential of the Fool

My greatest fear? My greatest hope? My greatest promise? I have often described myself as "a writer, a beggar and a fool"... and this one line describes that fear-mixed promise:

"an unsprung mousetrap

perched on the stairs"

Your images are strong and paint a knowing picture--it's not easy to do that in a short poem, imo. Thanks for sharing it. :)

what a fine poem to have on top of the list / today, i read bottom to top because it's to cover everything, so i'm getting to this late / keep up the good work /

A wonderful leashless metaphor that allows the reader to find their own meaning. Excellent poetry!
