Nice

Fun, well-written, good pace...

Too bad my contest entry doesn't follow any of these guidelines.

Sheesh!!! *Now* I read this!

Should be required reading before any first submission. Sure wish I had! Loaded with great advice and a handy outline for a hot Strip Poker Christmas Party story. Good luck in the contest! and Happy Holidays!

This should be required reading for new authors!

Cripes, if I had read this before I started writing for Lit, Some of my stories would have been a LOT better!

I agree with the Bard

This should be required reading for newbies and is highly recommended, by me at least, for all contestants. You did a good job of laying out the bolts (not to mention the nuts) of contest story writing.

Good List

Great suggestions. The only thing missing is to have someone proofread for you that knows the english language. I've read a bunch of stories that I enjoyed until I noticed lots of spelling errors and words used incorrectly. This is a great site and I hope everybody keeps up the good work.

Nice Advice

I haven't done any holiday stories but think this is good advice on any type story.

Perfect!

You've written a good, concise article on how to write short stories. While it would be easy to say that you could have expanded on this point or that, it stands well as it is.

Now watch this dang thing win the contest! UGH! :-)

It's about time...

That someone said something about detail. I have read so many stories that lack sufficient detail, and some were, other than this one egregious fault, good stories. I have heard all the extremely lame excuses for not supplying detail - and every one of them is piss in a leaky bucket! Thanks Sack! Someone needed to say it!

You know Sack

we've been friends for weeks now and you've never told me to read this...you've been hiding it from me so you could win, haven't you. This is a fantastic help and well worth reading for anyone who is a newbie writer. Like me...lol. Thanks for your smarts Sack, this is actually very helpful for me.

BEST advice.

Learn the difference between: Two,, To, Two.---Their,There.They.re---Here,Hear---Taut,Taunt,Thought--Rode,Road---,etc.;etc;.et.al.(LOL)... I absoslutely HATE it, when I have to stop and figure out which word the author really meant!
