I would initially say, This was written, for attention, yes. Secondly, Jesus was from the Middle east, I am not a wild church going freak, but even I know this, he had brown eyes, brown hair, and was relatively dark skinned like most people from that area are are..look at a map...whether this is poetry or not, will be decided by someone who has a more liberal definition of poetry, all I see here was something meant to piss people off... oh, it didnt piss ME off, I just feel for you being so bored with yourself

one of my favorite poets, Shane Allison did one kind of like this, but he gave Jesus a blow job, or maybe the other way around, but at any rate, it was more tasteful somehow. It was on ERWA.
I am going to go read it again and substitute "Brad Pitt" instead of Christ and see if I like it any better.

okay I read it again, substituting Brad did not work. I don't know, I feel like there could be more to this, I liked the part about the dancing and the driving down the highway much better. Maybe leave the ass fucking more up to the imagination. What do I know. I am going to quick go hide plastic baby Jesus from across the street. No one is safe. :)

annaswirls is right. I'd rather have this anal encounter explained through innuendo than as a graphic detail here, kept a secret, almost as dark and dirty as the church keeps theirs.
I see it as a slap in the face of iconographic worshippers rather than as an insult towards all Christianity. People should read more closely.
(Of course, there may be nothing more meant in this poem than a little butt sex with a godhead, too)

it's a comment on how jesus is presented, for the most part, and an attempt to tear " that" image down.
I normally won't resond to "ANON' comments because they lack the conviction to stand behind their beliefs...but if you noticed 90 per cent of the art work porytrays jesus as a blond blue eyed white man.

I, for one, love the whole idea of the poem,
as for the anal sex, it seems to be ok for all the young women to be bi these days...is this was some women saying she wanted toseduce the virgin mary people would get all hot.

This poem would be better with lines 5,6 and 7 and the 3 Ands omitted. It would then retain the full impact of the first 4 lines to the end. Of course the poem is blasphemous, vile and more than a bit doctrinally unsound.But it is also very good writing.

this is quite interesting. poetically, it's quite poor. it's just too blatant and too obvious, too much of the angry young man playing his loud music box, to be taken for anything more than someone shouting, "Hey, look at me."
my grandma
had an old "art" painting on her wall for 30 years, then gave it to my sister. Jesus is brown eyed, brown hair in that one, actually Tath, I have never in my life seen a blue eyed blond jesus in any type of artwork!! Interesting
Like "Piss Christ" the installation (that pissed off half of Christian America) with Christ floating in urine sandwiched in clear Plexiglas, this poem--in my opinion--addresses public perceptions of an alleged historic figure morphed into a deity, in this case "a good looking man, [with] blonde hair, blue eyes, and macho stubble" not to mention the hypocrisy of some of his followers. I see a comment on a modern-day western notion of Jesus--a laughable image since the historic Christ obviously was from the mid-east and Nordic types were in short supply there around the turn of the millennium. I give you points for guts here, but deduct a few for budding (but not fully bloomed) poetic skill.
