Where is a " good " doctor when you really " need " one ?

I don't usually comment on stories because as an anonymous ,most think I'm gonna trash the story and author . This story deserves to be finished and you are only about half way there . Please finish this story . Don't rush this process ,tell all the little nuances and sub-plots in their entirety. Good work and carry on.

We gotta be thinking that the as yet unseen “Doctor” - mom couldn’t be making this up, now could she? - may feel the need to advance the treatments to the remaining two modalities with which we’re familiar - albeit with perhaps reduced frequency.

And eventually mom may just let it slip that she’s improvising. Time soon to hear about absence of mentioning dad - that could well be a factor in her calculus ?

Yes, a more gradual build up in the next chapters could make for a more satisfying conclusion.

This armchair quarterbacking is so much easier than I imagine the composition of a multi chapter story would be.
