Did it ever occur to you that the names of the characters should be reversed?

Thomas is a boy's name. Gideon is a man's name.

I personally think that Thomas will be the name for a grown, distinguished man. Tommy or Tom would be what I would call a young man or boy. Now that you mention it, I can see it being the other way around. However, I’m just too attached to his name at this point to even consider changing it.
