The poet as a reporter
I am still at the privileged stage of “finding” new (to me) poets, who are a cause for a celebration. As it happened, I landed on this series of: “Found poems”, and with no intention for playing with puns, felt like I had found a treasure.
They could be read individually of course; there is enough to chew on each. But IMO, you can get an added value by reading them together.
The allusion to “Found Object” could be read as a directive to the reader: what you find throughout the mini series here(BTW, where is #4?), I have found too out there. Pay attention; those words (their referents of course) are here for all of us; they’re not just mine. From the perspective of the dominant Romantic model (poet and creative process are at the center) this stance could be viewed as a reflection of a very humble approach. I would not necessarily bank on that take. It’s from a strong and very assertive perspective that a poet can tell us: Hey listen, that’s the REALITY that I have found. Even with what I am saying about myself, I may be referring to all of us.
I find it especially refreshing, where under the umbrella of the holiest of all values: the value of individualism and self indulgence in the expression of idiosyncrasies, someone finds interest not in navel gazing, but in looking around and reporting back to us.
Hey hey
oh that was good
i really admire your precision Dada
less words, more impact
and so many ways to read this one lol
short but thought provoking...
BD I love how you do so much with so little. This one made me nod and smile...
