O really!

Either a duplicate here or a missing O .

"and raise our faces to to praise"

Otherwise, quite enjoyable, though not your very best.

Flows like a mountain stream on its way to me. A read

American Gothic

You poem immediately brought to mind Grant Wood's painting, American Gothic. Maybe it's just me but conjuring up a persons bank of images and creating new ones shows the poem is working.

this looks like a "poets walk"; a workshop piece, pleasent and not offensive, rife with near cliches.

the moon of harvest, the dreaded "salt".

But it has a nice underlying theme of contrasts

We pray for rain,

we pray for drying days

Even the longest day of summer

passes too quickly

and the allusions to spring and fall

Arcadia

When I was a child my mother had a wallpaper which illustrated scenes of Arcadian bliss.I'll have to apologise because my memory of those images is getting in the way of appreciating your poem which triggered something I had totally forgotten.Sorry!

there is room for a poem like this.....

that isn't cute, clever, or cliche-ridden. I walked the walk with you, and it was relaxing! Thank you for this!

I agree with 1201 on this one. It is very nice, but I prefer it when you lead me to places that I never imagined going to before.

A rustic feel so natural here

Away from the urban bustle ~ very tranquil.
