Thoughtfull ~!!!!

You had me from the first line on. Hooked me in and overpowered me with the thoughts you painted for us. I like it, subtle and thought invoking.

Enlightened and transformed into ... a new child ~
Maybe we should take a pinch of salt and call'm in tha mornin' eh ~

Isn't one of the commandments....

You shall have but one God before you? Tell the politicians that!!!

WOW !

theres a punch,
and much for thought..

the world is confusing today-
more than ever,
and I will say..
I worry about our children,
and what they will become.
I agree with SACK,
how many GODS are there ?
I only remember ONE,
and there my faith will remain.

your Sunday sermon,
was a masterpiece..

Revisionist History

That's not what Jefferson, Franklin, Paine, et al, said. They said freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. Read the Federalist Papers before peddling liberal kook propaganda like this pabulum, bub. Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Adams, Franklin, and all the others were intensely religious men and would never have espoused a separation of God from the government. How come you’re trying to rewrite history?

So apropos to the time

Embattled is my home state of Oregon, where our Death with Dignity Act and Medical Marijuana are under fire from the US Attorney General. Frustration over this has coloured my days, and then I read your wry poem, and know my passion is not wasted. Let Church and State be separate, and with the merger of the Conservative Christian White into mainstream politics, they are infringing upon States Rights. Someone must shed light on it, on this pernicious, invasive, judgemental group whose Conviction of Righteousness throws an entire nation of diversity under a bus.

More Oobie Doobie Deism

Our forefathers played music everyone could dance to, these jokers play music that only pastey face rich white men can dance to. Is Longhorn's first name Foghorn?

A reader thanks to an involved poet

My heart flutters to the gutsy few/
Who dare put their pens to paper/
And with two puns/
And few more rhymes /
They nail their poems/
to the public square!/
Thank you pall.

I'm Impressed

Leon, I never knew you quite thought this way -- you were always so vague. There's hope for you yet! CP

This poem

was mentioned in the archival review thread when I decided to return this poet's favour and spend some time reading a few poems.
