That was the way to do it!
When I walked in on my wife and her boyfriend, Tom, they seemed surprised. I wasn't, I'd heard my wife was out spreading 'my' pussy around.
While I had a gun in my hand, I didn't fire a shot. Didn't have to. I just mentioned (as he was putting his clothes on) that the only way he was leaving upright, was if he helped my wife pack and took her with him. Of course, she started bawling, telling me how I was her true love, she loved only me, etc etc, but my gun was close to hand until his '66 Camaro started up and I saw it pull away, with her inside.
The next day was burning everything we owned. If it would burn, it was thrown on the pile. Then I left. I just drove away with everything in our bank accounts in my pocket. My wife was Tom's business and she had shown she could function without me.
I didn't go back to my hometown for almost 2 years. When I did, I found my wife living in our old home, apparently without Tom. She heard that I was back in town and it didn't take long for the slut to track me down. I was surprised, the whore actually thought I'd come back for her. It seemed she lived with Tom for about a year until he gave her something that took drugs to cure. When she told me that, I just about died laughing, made even harder by her tears. What the hell did she expect?
I'm still married to her. I guess. Couldn't care less, that was 10 years ago and my girlfriend and I have two kids, we're happy, healthy and most important of all, in love and stay true to one another. My ex?
Who cares....
Well he was on the right track
But too many people saw him firing the gun and telling loverboy he was going to kill him. That might lead to jail time or a bad outcome in divorce court. And he should have NEVER left their home. A good attorney paints him as deserting his wife and their home and he loses even more in the divorce. Otherwise, pretty funny stuff. Pretty vindictive to shoot the cat!
JPB at the top of his game !
Yes I know in real life , he would have been up shitcreek sans paddle. But this is Lit and not real life !
I know JPB is an acquired taste for some , but when he does a story like this , its pure LW gold !
Here he uses dark humor and a bulldozing mentality with his great command of a scene . He can do in two pages what many other very good LW authors will need 5 to do the same !
I believe that in 50 years in the future their will still be a rabid JPB fan base.
5*'s
Doesn't add up right JPB
The revenge was just too way over the top. First, he initiates his wife's gangbang with her co workers, second, he spends 4 days with Greg's wife, then he leaves Kathleen, shit, he's worse than she is. Also, I know Yanks are quite gun crazy BUT surely somebody would have called the cops about him firing his pistol in the house & outside. What a crazy nation & now they've got the " DON "; what a scary thought. I meant to press 3 but JPB it's your lucky day I hit 4 instead. 4 ****
Fuckin "A"
Great story, but he shouda gone with the 1911 .45. "Overkill" is really underrated a lot of times. 5 Stars.
Holy crap people!
ITS JUST A STORY! Read it, accept that it has nothing to do with reality, and move on.
.22 Caliber Target Pistol's Report Was Inside a House on Six Acres.
The author said the erstwhile couple wanted lots of room and so the house is a four bedrooom ranch style house ob six acres. So the house was probably not at the edge of the property line and next to the neighboring house. The sound would not have carried to a neighboring house. That's why, Kdcee79 and Northern_Writer, the neighbors didn't call the cops.
But the people inside would certainly have heard the shots, and if I had been inside the house, I would have been seriously pissed by some maniac running through a house I was in, firing at a fleeing target. I would certainly have called the cops. Everyone in the rooms the husband ran through while firing would have had a civil cause of action against the husband for assault. I suspect others in the house, who were after all, friends and/or co-workers of the wife and her lover, and NOT friends with the protagonist, would have called the cops. Additionally, if I were the lover, I would have called the cops and sought to have the criminally prosecuted. ( if somene ever shoots at me, and I live, I'm going to go after the guy!)
Overthefalls pointed out that criminal charges against the husband were likely, and he should not have left his home which could be expected to have damaged him in the divorce (Colorado, where JPB lives, is a no-fault state).
I didn't see any tags for this story. It should have had one for humor, as it can easily be read like a "Mack Sennet" style slapstick comedy, albeit quite adult. Husband chasing the lover out the door, shots fired all over the places, wife being pummeled back and forth for hours, and the injured spouses riding off and riding each other for days. It could be played for a broad slapstick comedy.
