As the tite says. Also I used to live in a apartment building that had 10 units spread across 3 floors. Imagine a building with 3 levels, the first had four units at each corner, the second had 3 units at the corners with the fourth sealed, the third had 3 units at the corners but also a second entrance/exit for the forth unit from the first level that took up one corner on the first and second levels. That one unit took up one corner of the whole building with it's own stairs between levels each basicly small apartments. My friend lived there so I visited and saw the inside of the unit and it was a pretty cool setup all the other units were copies/mirrors of each other.
True the changing of perspectives was difficult to understand at times. You should nto really change perspective unless its between the different characters and then only if you let us know of the change. By changing it from 3rd person to 1st person and back to 3rd person is really not acceptable.
Also for others. There are apartments with more than one floor. Some people also call certain townhouses apartments. Its all to our perspectives. My brother used to do locums all around the country when he was working and I got to visit a lot of excellent places. In his time doing the locums he was situated in about 3 apartments that had more than one story. They are rare but they do exist.
A locum is a 6 month contract work for a particular hospital. People doing locums usually got more money than the regular staff for they do specialized work.

You go from third person to first person, back to third, once more to first, and end in third.
And maybe I'm just naive about real estate, but I've never heard of an apartment with multiple floors.
