humble

is a man or woman who does not resent what they do for a dollar but see their job as important as exchanging financial statements or flipping a burger. I was smiling because I read the whole poem <grin '10'

I watch another work the floor

sipping warm brown security

my heart goes out and back again

an empty bomerang of sympathy

what goes around comes around

I guess I don't know preachy from telly. I do know that the words in this poem stir up all kinds of feelings in me. I especially like:

"and one by one all of the women

he knew from the time of halter tops

and swimming holes are losing their memory

their minds their control

they rearrange furniture and trip over ghosts"
