Relacement firing pins are readily available to return it to working order.
Different manufacturers use different rifling, for example Colt rifling turns in the opposite direction of Smith and Wesson rifling.

It's the filed-off serial number, NOT the firing pin. The Feds, pursuant to the above provisions of Federal Law, say either hubby or wife are looking at up to 5 years in a Federal Penitentiary. Most states also criminalize filed off serial numbers. Both the Feds AND the state could criminally prosecute, and after he did 5 years in a Federal slammer, he could start several years in a state prison. ( Not Double Jeopardy, there are two different Sovereigns, and each COULD prosecute!) Hubby is a small fish for the Feds, but the locals may have a grudge against hubby. Why else would they be there when they went to the storage locker? So hubby may be back in the slammer for several more years.

To the commenter who said you don't get four years for assault and battery, that's probably true. But If the prosecutor charged the crime (in Minnesota, for example) as first degree assault (MN Stat. Section 609.221, "whoever assaults another in inflicts great bodily harm, it may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than twenty years"), then four years is not at all unlikely! I think most males would feel having your testicles kicked so badly they had to be removed, would constitute a great bodily harm!

Yes the gun is illegal but being unworkable the locals would have not made a big deal about it unless they had a hard on about something else. Concerning Clyde, he did exactly what he should have done with the asshole. The only hole in the plot was is that his wife should have told the police that she told the guy no and that kept pressuring her and was undressing her against her will. Assault with intent to rape would have been a decent bargaining chip to drop the assault charge against her husband. All in all, a good story. No wimps, no cuckolds, no cream lickers. The only bad thing were some of the wimp-assd, pacifist, cum licking commenters. You know who you are. A big 5* just to piss you off.

Some significant errors in the story
1: When the protagonist is on trial for assaulting Ralph, you wrote that Ralph's testicles had been removed--which would make him impotent. But when you wrote about Ralph visiting the protagonist in prison, you have Ralph bragging that he was going to "fuck" Mandy. How would Ralph accomplish that when he would no longer be able to perform.
2: You write that the police discovered Sue was Ralph's murderer when they were following up on a cheating spouse case. Adultery is not a criminal offense and there would be no cause for police to be following a cheating spouse simply because he was suspected of cheating.
