I can't help but wonder.....

If this could have been even better if you weren't trying so hard to rhyme. Some of the phrases, such as "and I don't mean wrens" seem a bit trite because of the rhyming requirement. Also, in the title from the list of poems, the first word is "shade". However, in the first line title from the actual poem (which I don't believe you need), you changed it to "shades".

race or religion?

normique regardless of rhyming problems in your beliefs could religion be substituted for race or colour.
