Part of being an adult is accepting humans are not infallible. They find out their mother is an adulterer? They deal with it. We live short pointless lives, why live it in misery, why waste your entire life? Your kids will still survive and move on. I call "Bullshit" on this storyline. And this is not the first one I've seen, but the second or third where the husband claimed "From the good of the children". And that's all bullshit. What it is, is a closeted masochist getting great pleasure in wallowing in his own self-pity. I don't know if the author intended it to come across that way, but that's definitely the way I read it.

They can't understand strength or sacrifice or loving others more than yourself. This is a powerfully written story about a man who lived with the consequences of his decisions. I think he was very wrong, morally, theologically, and practically. But only an Anon would see him as a wimp and it takes a real idiot to give a story like this a 1. I wouldn't care if it didn't discourage good writers from exploring a complex subject. I know these sites are the only places they can pretend to be men. The fact is their wives and children are living happily ever after in another relationship that had a man in the house.
