I used to be a huge fan
but now I am not sure I like your work as much. You take too much poetic license and don't check facts as you should for your storylines which ruins them for me. Sorry. I still read them.

I just finished reading this - great story as always. These songs have been lifelong favorites of mine.
You built the story nicely and handled the old girlfriend with compassion.
I liked the Rachel character a lot - she had so much compassion ... but it was her stubborness that kept him alive!

Overall the story worked, but when the first line after they get engaged is:
"As life went on, we saw a lot of each other."

I guess most everyone expects a good story when written by you. This one is no exception. A very nice read, even wihout the sex. I watched the TV series also, so I was interested in your story. As always, very nicely done

DEAR OH DEAR
A nicely written story but dear oh dear, how so very predictable a theme. Others, who are obviously fans of yours, have made praising comments but even some of those seem a little disappointed. There are one or two mistakes that have escaped your editing but they are of (off?) no great import.
Didn't Don Gibson first make 'I can't stop loving you' famous? He should have done; he wrote it!

Predictable plot, characters that don't develop, "they lived happily ever after" ending and uninspired writing.
I like most of DG's stories but this one didn't appeal to me.

The way you tell a story is just great. Take this one with a decidedly different story line, wow! Your attention to detail is great. If you keep writeing these wonderful stories, I'm going to run out of ways to say how much I like them. Maybe that's why your the writer and I'm not!!
Another great story
This is another well written story by D.G. Hear. I respect his stories and read all of his new ones when I see them. D.G. Hear is a highly capable writing, takes considerable pride in his stories, and looks after every details. I like the way in which he includes music (so to speak) into some of his stories. Here, he does an excellent job. He always picks some of the great vocal tunes of "the Swinging Year" Like "You belong to me", populatized back in 1951 by Patty Page. This song brings back great memories to me, and tears to my eyes.
Yes, the story is a bit predictable. But D.G. Hear is such a good writer that one tends to overlook this, and to be totally dedicated to all his stories. You can't like all of the stories to the max. Thank you for your stories D.G. Hear!

it seemed to me that this still needs a little editing, unless it was posted ass-backwards by the lit. people: there are paras that are almost word for word repeated and the time line jumps about like a kangaroo on meth.
tidy it up a little and it would have been 100

Excellent story
A very heart warming, romantic story. He would have had to have been crazy to let Rachel get away. She was totally devoted to him and they hadn't even dated. Rachel sounds like a wonderful woman. Obviously she could have gone her own way long before he woke up. A true love story.

Really great until he gets out of the hospital and after that held up by the possibility that she might move ahead with another.

I was in a coma for only six weeks but when I awoke, I had forgotten 34 years, two wives and three children. I was also paralyzed mid-back. That was a heart wrenching story. Book-worthy. Almost as movie-worthy as my life story but would be easier to do.

Sorry pard, I completely disagree with you. Consider just the simple fact that Rach has spent 4 years taking care of him, in addition to the time together in school.
Just because someone is nice, outgoing and friendly does not make them a cheater.....

She was always clear she was waiting for the right person - when he woke up she was his period -
They will be as happy as DGH can make two people LOL
