It's tight and perfectly put together, and there isn't much to say. They may love each other, but what she did to him just isn't acceptable--and he isn't going to accept it.

Saying you love someone does not mean that you love that person! Love is a verb implying actions. It's just sex does not address the trust, honesty and respect issues.

All characters are actually cheated out of humane life. When finishing the story, I sighed in relief in the same way when you wake up from a nightmare, happy to realize it’s not your real world. Even when my main “informers” from the posters show that there is a promising story, to the most part its still (as this story was) an unlivable universe, and finally incredible one. The men characters are either shadows of themselves, filled with fears and grateful to still be accepted by their cheating wives, or they are cold determined and detached robots. The women characters are hardly human. They always cheat of course. They vary only by the degree of their despicability and cruelty. The cruelty of the final dialogue was breath taking indeed.
About the life he know's. If all you know is sluts, thats what you write about. My first two wives were sluts. I used to work around them all day. When I was younger. I only reason I don't write. Is JPB covers the subject better.

I'm not a fan of yours and normally skip reading your stories, but after readng this one I feel I must have misjudged you. My apology. I thought this was a very fine story about two people who really did love each other but had an apparent sexual incompatibility, Sad story especially in light of the fact that they both seem sincere and loving., and even though she blew it I felt sympathy for both of them. It must be a tribute to your writing. In most of these stories you tend to end up despising one or the other of the characters in the plot. 60 year old George
Good tale of a marriage gone wrong because the partners weren't communicating. Easy prose to read and nicely done. My only gripe concerns some hiccups in the grammar that your editor should've caught. I'd give you a 100 for the overall quality of the writing but the oopsies in grammar drop it to a 75.

I wonder what your mind frame was on this one the only good thing about this story was that the husband wasn't a cockhold but what wife expects a husband to hang around while she fucks some other guy, I think most readers perfer revenge in a cheat story and thats a better way to go.
a certain type of woman, fiftyish, good looking and intelligent. Trouble is that many of these women are married. I keep remembering many stories I have read on lit. not the wimp husband ones but the ones where the husband still has his balls and gives his wife what for. Good story. What a bitch, but it begs a question
Ok in this context he did right to fuck her off. What happens to them now? I think she quickly recovers, she's attractive and still young, desirable, and has no qualms about sex. A few years down the line she's learnt from her mistakes, with her new guy she doesn't cheat. Ok unlikely. So she doesn't ever get caught out then. She has a life. But the husband? Sex ain't big on his agenda. He's not a very social person, all his friends are work related, and now he has the big black sign above him. He's insecure, he'll find it hard to trust anyone. He better hang on to the dignity he preserved by kerbing her because it's a tough journey to a life better lived. Lonely. And he may not make it. Even his friends whisper about him. He called the fucking cops on his wife? Pussy action. So he grows bitter and sad. Resentful. Women can smell loser, he doesn't get many second dates, hardly gets to second base, and then...nothing.
So here's the question. Hotwife...or no wife? Encroaching loneliness or a swinging social circle of likeminded nudge and winkers? Hedonism or boredom?
I know this doesn't apply to many people on this site,which I assume is a fairly broad mix of society. But Loving Wives sure brings out the twisted and the creeps. First, they would not be having sex in the back seat of a car. That is what teenagers do because they have no place to go and cannot afford a motel. Unless, the ex-boyfriend was married, the sex would have been in his apartment which would have made it impossible for her to be caught. Otherwise, it would have been in a motel.
Second, even in the unlikely event sex occured in the back seat of a car, it would not occur in a place as public as the parking lot of a club where people that walk by might see. Instead, they would have driven to some remote dark area; perhaps where lovers park but don't park next to another car.
In addition to being unrealistic, the action of husband is extremely harsh. The proper thing would to forgive and give the wife another chance. If a man wishes to be married, it is foolish to divorce a wife because one time she cheated or had an affair. He can replace her, but the next wife is just as likely to cheat.
After all, it is the nature of women to find a good and dependable mate and provider, and then when ovoluting to have sneaky sex with a more symmetrical man and climax with that man and to not climax with her mate (although she may fake it) in order to select the best genes for her eggs. Women that did not select the best available genes for their eggs given a low risk opportunity are not our ancestors.
Although it's just a story, it does reflect the author's own thoughts and stance on the issues involved. As he's previously indicated. People who cheat, either by intent or spur of the moment, are, by their very nature, unable to provide the emotional stability a relationship requires. For some of us, it is a hard lesson to have to learn. On the other hand, once bitten, twice shy.
As for European and others, their own marital dilemmas are no different, at least for the men. From my personal experience, European men are no less apt to leave a cheating spouse as American men (some foreign romance films portray unfaithfulness and forgiveness as social sophistication, but that's a ruse used to convey the screenwriters/directors view of how things should be). However, there is a disparity in the women. American women are more likely to be contrite when found out. Where as European women, especially, French women, are prone to a "laissez-faire" type of attitude.
Of course, all of the above is just a general observation, as some women, even French women, are as faithful as any other women. And yes, many a European man is more likely to be unfaithful to their wives/girlfriends, than their American counter parts. I could claim it's the culture, but it isn't. Rather, I think it has to do with opportunity and human nature. And in that, I think we are all much the same.
By the way, I found the story to be very direct and equally poignant.

From my personal experience, European men are no less apt to leave a cheating spouse as American men (some foreign romance films portray unfaithfulness and forgiveness as social sophistication, but that's a ruse used to convey the screenwriters/directors view of how things should be). However, there is a disparity in the women. American women are more likely to be contrite when found out. Where as European women, especially, French women, are prone to a "laissez-faire" type of attitude.
Of course, all of the above is just a general observation, as some women, even French women, are as faithful as any other women. And yes, many a European man is more likely to be unfaithful to their wives/girlfriends, than their American counter parts. I could claim it's the culture, but it isn't. Rather, I think it has to do with opportunity and human nature. And in that, I think we are all much the same.
By the way, I found the story to be very direct and equally poignant.

Whether they "cheat" on you or not, this is the way all women are wired! Who really wants to get married? Women do! Women want to get married because it is in their DNA and their training. They need a man to make money for them like some kind of work whore and to do all their grunt work around the house. In the best case scenario, this is so that they can raise the man's babies and keep the home presentable. That best case rarely happens anymore. Now they use the man until his net worth is high enough, then they divorce him, take half plus the house plus child support and leave his remains in the gutter. Like the corporate raiders of the '80's when a man's break up value exceeds his dividend return, they simply dismantle him and sell off the pieces. Then they do it again with the next lucky winner. You have to be a fool to get married, let alone to get married twice. Never marry a divorced woman! She is now practiced in destroying men, that is why second marriages fail at such a high rate! If you think you are in love, go see a psychologist and get treated for it before it destroys you!
