The suspense is in the writing style.
Well this is certainly unique. I like how the situations build up steadily...you only get a little detail from the first *take*, but things get very explicit by the last one. I was hoping that the author would eventually go into more detail concering what excatly happens when the main charater *takes* someone, though. Oh well, still definitely recommended!
