That's my absolute favorite line in this entire story. Wonderfully done, its my 8th time reading and I still get chills.

Wow, this really transported me back in time! Very nearly the exact same thing happened to me and a good female friend of several years. We weren't sure if it was a good idea or not at the time, but we've been together as a couple for twenty years now, so I guess it worked out after all!
