There is nothing more boring than guard duty and this story represents every soldier's dream, especially if he is on guard duty. It is as far from reality as possible and it is wonderful.

I did my share of guard duty in the military, but nothin' like that ever happened to me. Well done.

There's a real sense of anticipation here and the scene is set so well. I also love the humorous comment from the girl at the end.
