I liked the contrast between the past and present. Nicely done. Some good imagery, too. Would drop the last line.

I'd keep the last line

because its got that quirky 4degrees signature.

I could steal these lines, they are that good:
"i grew accustomed to
the week long bloom
of Bartlett pear trees
for those days, i'd smell
semen in the air,"

We have pink, yellow and white trees flowering--I can't say if they have a scent since they make my allergies flare-up.
