what an imagination!
I loved the way this story was told so matter-of-factly. In so doing, it kept away from stereotypes and value judgements, but the content had my mind running away with me, imagining the back story, the future story and everything else around it. Excellent!
Interesting take . . .

There's not much in it for me if I'm left hanging after he comes, so what's in it for the wheelchair-bound Elsie? That motivation didn't come across.
