I think you missed the points of the story. First, the success of surviving Cancer is dependant on the emotional stability of the patient. That is what makes the statement of the shrink so outrageous. Ever heard of a placebo? The justification does not make sense. It's more crap my friend.
She said she will take her baby to see his father but it was not shown if she actually did so. Secondly even if she did commit suicide, that still is no reason to kill the guy in the first place. He should have survived, kicked her ass by being with another woman and that would have been justice. By giving it 5 stars you are giving approval to his death which i feel his wrong.

Short and very sad

Its the little, "silly" things that often mean the most. In this case she stomped on Pete's will to live. Now she's going to kill herself and the unborn baby to be with Pete in an afterlife. It wasn't Pete's baby on Earth and it'll continue not being Pete's baby in heaven or wherever.

My next reaction was "Kill Jacob, bitch and then yourself"! A very sad story. Jacob surely needs to be killed, the raping arrogant asshole. This woman also does not deserve to live. She should find a family to adopt the little bastard she is carrying and then kill herself. Make the adoption confidential so the kid will not be burdened with the story, the genes he will have is bad enough.

I am glad that this is just a story, I am sure that it has actually happened some time, some where.

She was only two months along when Pete died, plenty early enough to get an abortion, Jacob had no need to know that she was even pregnant, let alone that he was the father, and in any case he has no right to forbid an abortion, I don't think even a HUSBAND can stop his wife from aborting their child.

its her choice & her responsibility, i am a firm believer in a womans right to choose to go for an abortion or not, because for the rest of her life she will bear the guilt of killing an innocent if she goes ahead with it, i dont want to be as callous as those pro lifers sound, but we men have no right to force a woman not to have an abortion or get pregnant, we can & only provide for the child & mother or the spouse, its always her choice & her responsibility.
post partum depression is not just your average run of the mill suicidal depression, its much more & compounded by the fact the burden of killing an innocent or inability to be a mother has devastating effects on the person,
suicide IS a permanent solution to a present problem but its not the cowards way, No person wants to willingly take their life, it requires brave steps but in no way does that justify the persons actions as brave, yet according to me not cowardly too. just as we have the right to live, we are also endowed with the ability to choose to decide when we longer wish to continue to live or accept death,

in this story i see 2 suicides, 1 murder, & a scot free criminal(jacob)

Well, the way abortion laws are designed, Jacob would not be allowed to force her to carry the baby.

Given the emotions and ramifications involved in this category, I'm surprised that suicide is as rare a topic as it is. There aren't any tags for it. A lot of talented writers don't seem to want to touch it.

In Hell

The only place they'd meet again is in Hell. Pete buried in anger and her buried in selfishness/pride. The child paying the debt of its parents.
